5. Isuzu Motors' history began in 1916, when
Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.,
Ltd. planned a cooperation with the Tokyo Gas and
Electric Industrial Co. to build automobiles. The next
step was taken in 1918, when a technical cooperation
with Wolseley Motors Limited was initiated, yielding
exclusive rights to the production and sales of
Wolseley vehicles in East Asia. In 1922 came the first
ever Japan-produced passenger car, a Wolseley model,

ISUZU IN INDONESIA
Isuzu in Indonesia is a joint venture firm.Isuzu Astra
Motor Indonesia is a joint venture automobile and
commercial vehicle manufacturer with headquarters
in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company was founded in April
2008 and is the successor of the previous Isuzu
manufacturer, Pantja Engine, founded in May 1974. The new
company is jointly owned by Isuzu and the holding
company Astra International, each holding a 44.94% share
in the company, with the remaining stake of 10.12% belonging
to the Indonesian Product Exhibition.

ISUZU IN MALASIA
Isuzu HICOM Malaysia - Joint venture in Malaysia
Isuzu HICOM Malaysia is a Malaysian commercial vehicle
manufacturer operating under a joint venture between the DRB-
HICOM Bhd. and Isuzu companies, based in Peramu Jaya
Industrial Area in Pekan, Malaysia.
The company was established in January 1994 HICOM
Commercial Vehicle Sdn. Bhd. and later change name in April
1996 as Malaysia Truck & Bus Sdn. Bhd. The company took the
current name in June 2006 when Isuzu took over the majority of
shares. It is based at Peramu Jaya Industrial Area in
Pekan, Malaysia. The Chief Executive Officer is Taizo
Nakahigashi.
The site comprises an area of 14 hectares. 12,000 to 14,000 units
are produced here every year

ISUZU IN UK
Since Isuzu Truck UK Ltd was formed in 1996, the
company has grown considerably and developed a
comprehensive dealer network that now spreads
extensively throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
In 2013 the company became a wholly owned
subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Ltd Japan. All Isuzu trucks
built for the UK market are manufactured in Japan and
assembled near Verona, Italy.

ISUZU PHILLIPINES
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is a subsidiary of
the Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer Isuzu Motors and
headquartered in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines. The company was
formed on August 7, 1995. The company operates as a joint venture
with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, with each holding 35%. Other
shareholders, with a share of 30%, include the Ayala Corporation and
the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation
Isuzu's Philippine debut came in the 1950s through its line of trucks. In
1972, General Motors and Isuzu formed a joint venture during the 1970s
to create GM Philippines. More changes in management took place in
the two decades that followed, leading to the creation of Isuzu Motors
Pilipinas in 1989 as a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Ltd. To pave the way
for a new joint venture, the company ceased its operations in 1995. On
August 7, 1995, Isuzu Philippines Corporation was formed.

JOINT VENTURE WITH SWARAJ MAZDA
Isuzu Motors India Private Limited is a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors
Limited, Japan was established in August 2012 in India having its
headquarters in Chennai
The company has so far established its network with 28 dealer outlets
in the country including Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Mumbai, Chennai,
Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Visakhapatnam,
Tirupati, Cochin, Calicut, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Ludhiana, Lucknow,
Indore, Vadodara, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Mohali, Nagpur,
Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Faridabad and Pune .The current products
are sold through these dedicated Isuzu outlets to cater to the market
demand for pick-up trucks. Isuzu Motors India has plans to increase its
dealer outlets significantly in future.
Isuzu Motors India inaugurated its state-of-the-art manufacturing
plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh which is located 55 km north
of Chennai on April 27, 2016.
