get to Egypt?
1670 BC – Joseph becomes leader of
Egypt
Hyksos Dynasty
1660 BC – Israel’s entire family moves to
Egypt and settles in Goshen
18th Dynasty overthrows the Hyksos Dynasty
• “Then their arose a new king over Egypt, who
did not know Joseph” Ex. 1:8
•A boy is born, hidden by his mother, and
found by Pharaoh’s daughter.
• She adopts him and names him Moses – “to
draw out”
•Moses flees to Midian. Pharaoh seeks to
kill him.
•1447-1445 – Pharaoh dies. God calls
Moses back to Egypt to deliver His
people out of slavery.
3. Water turned
to blood
7:14-25
7:18 – All the fish died
The river stunk
The Egyptians loathed the water
7:19 – Aaron as well stretch his hand over the
ponds and all pools of water.Their was blood
everywhere even in buckets and pitchers.
7:22 –The magicians could copy the act
Pharaoh did not ask Moses to remove the blood
4. Frogs
8:1-15
8:3 – God smites all the territory with frogs
It was in their house, bedroom, bed, on their people, into their
ovens, into their kneading bowls
8:7 –The magicians could copy the act
8:8 – Pharaoh asks Moses to remove the frogs and
agrees to let the people go to serve God
8:13 –They gathered the dead frogs together and put
them heaps, and the land stank.
5. Lice
8:16-19
8:16 – God changed the dust in the land into lice
8:18 –The magicians could NOT copy the act
8:19 –They tell Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.”
6. Flies
8:20-29
8:21 – God sends swarms of flies
It was in their houses
It was on the ground on which they stood
8:23 – God planned on making a distinction
between the Israelites and the Egyptians
8:22 – No flies would be in Goshen
8:30 – Pharaoh asked Moses to remove the flies
7. Death of the
Cattle
9:1-7
9:3 – All of the Egyptian cows, horses, donkeys,
camels, oxen, and sheep died
9:4 – None of the Israelite's animals died
8. Boils
9:8-12
9:9 – God uses ashes to cause a find dust that
caused boils.The boils would then break out into
sores
These boils affected all men and beasts
9:11 –The magicians tried to stand before Moses,
but could not because of their pain
9. Hail mixed
with Fire
9:13-26
9:14 – God planned on this plague
to hit Pharaoh in the heart
9:15-16 – God tells Pharaoh about their
relationship
9:19-20 – God warned Pharaoh not to
test Him on this plague. Many of
Pharaoh's servants heed the warning,
but Pharaoh does not.
9:27 – After the hail, Pharaoh admits that
he has sinned.
10. Locusts
10:1-20
10:15 –There was so much locust that
the sky was dark
They ate everything that was destroyed by
the other plagues.
10:16 – Pharaoh quickly calls Moses and
Aaron to admit he has sinned again.
10:19 – God removed every single locust
from the territory of Egypt
11. Thick
Darkness
10:21-29
10:21 – God calls thick darkness on the
land
10:22 – No one left their house for three
days
10:23 – Only the Israelites had light in
their homes
10:24 – Pharaoh tries to cut a deal with
Moses
10:29 – Pharaoh tells Moses not come
back ever again
