WORK EXPERIENCE
Assistant Manager, Operational Excellence, Pfizer India Limited Dec’13 to Present
Driving six sigma process improvement projects to achieve team yearly cost saving target.
Imparting lean culture in Quality control lab for creating Lean QC lab.
Conducting training session in six sigma, process capability analysis and statistical process control.
Statistical and data analytics support to Senior Leadership Team.
Projects:
Improved the Penem manufacturing line yield from 91.2% to 95.5 % as six sigma black belt project.
Reduced the Penem packing line changeover from 240 minutes to 75 minutes using SMED concepts
and standard work for contractor, operator and supervisor.
Introduced the concepts of continuous process verification (CPV) in IKKT which converts the CQA to
CPP with monitoring of CPP and review mechanism.
Created raw material release board for reducingthe number of lots waitingto release. Improved the
metric (No. of lots within the SLA days) from 31% to 80% in two months.
Creating a Lean Quality Control Lab to improve the flow (testing) which includes implementing 5S,
work station design, Kanban cards implementation and visual management board for scheduling the
test (on going).
Created visual management board for yield improvement in Penicillin block and Microbiological lab
to monitor the various issues in their area.
Investigated various customer complaints to identify the actual root cause for taking necessary
action.
2. Industrial Engineer, TVS Motor Company, Hosur, India Feb’12 to Nov’13
Managed a team of IE engineers for achieving yearly targets in work content reduction using Lean
and productivity projects.
Driving process improvement projects involved in Fabrication, Machining and assembly cells
Creating and implementing line balancing in assembly conveyor, man machine balance to optimize
manpower deployment in various lines.
Estimating manpower for entire plant based on deployment time to meet monthly demand.
Projects:
Optimized the number of docks in Plant II using SMED concept and small scale automation
Developed Mizusumashi system for XL Super Engine assembly to optimize the material flow.
Estimated work content for Phoenix & Jupiter model using MTM technique
Process consulting - Knight Printing, Fargo, USA Mar’10 to May’11
Business process consulting to reduce the overall lead time in printing order delivery.
Implemented an improved production layout using Spaghetti diagram to accommodate the
fulfilment facility thereby achieved the saving of $30,000 per annum.
Reduced pre-production lead time by cutting down WIP inventory in office area, improved operator
(white collar) efficiency by eliminating NVA using Value Added Flow Analysis.
Worked under accounts department to redefine the cost estimating method (BHR).
Member Production Engineering - Wabco India Limited, Chennai, India Jan’08 to Apr’09
Process proving engineer for Flange (Aluminium component) machining - Cutting tools selection,
parameter optimization, and conducting trial runs
Conducted process performance study (Pp, Ppk) for accepting CNC Lathe machines from ACE
designers, Bangalore for WABCO Flange production line.
Introduced SIPOC, a process mapping tool to highlight the new process development process for
customer approval. This tool has been horizontally deployed for all new projects.
