Career Summary
As a process engineer over the last five years, I took advantage of the many opportunities available to me to
utilize my skills in process engineering, continuous improvement for lean design and manufacturing, and quality
control. The projects I worked on resulted in more than $10M in company savings and generated a new product
that is expected to significantly increase market share for US Synthetic in the oil and gas exploration industry.
Work Experience
US Synthetic 2010-2015
Process Engineer and New Product Developer Orem, UT
• Constructed DOE projects for multiple assembly processes, optimizing inputs to increase cpk indexes to
1.33 or better, saving US Synthetic $1.3M in rework and scrap cost.
• Worked in a four person cross-functional team to enhance a pressure inducing component which
significantly improved PDC product performance. This technology was adopted in the latest product
launch for US Synthetic’s principle customer.
• Drafted and implemented standard work (JBS, CK, training documents) for three processes which I then
yokotened across the entire plant. This reduced production takt time by ten percent.
• Led a cross-functional quality control group in optimizing a Kanban pull systems to meet customer
demand and increase plant capacity.
• Closed out multiple corrective action items to resolve customer concerns and meet/exceed their
expectation
• Used Value Stream Maps, Vertical Value Streams, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis tools to efficiently
organize and manage teams and projects.
• Taught and trained ten engineers in lean manufacturing, six sigma, and the scientific method
(DMAIC/PDCA), leading two of them to acquire job advancements at US Synthetic.
Asante Foundation 2010
Low Cost Housing Manager and Test Engineer Kenya, Africa
• Responsibilities included instruction and training of block making and house building techniques to
Kenyan natives
• Field test designer, author and analyzer
Aviation Technical Test Center 2009
Army Helicopter Test Engineer Fort Rucker,
AL
• Responsibilities included telemetry monitoring to ensure safety and data quality on structural strain load
survey for a helicopter test
