Riccardo Diaconu’s Impressions on the Mobility in Romania 2017
1. Let Me to Present the Mobility in Romania and My Impressions
On Saturday, I waited for those in Portugal at Sibiu City Airport at 17:20.
After I took my guest pupil, I went to a fast food restaurant where I ate. Then I
went home. When I got home my guest pupil he settled his suitcase. After he
finished arranging, we started to talk about our countries and their cultures. Then
we slept at 10:00 because we were quite tired and the next day it was going to be
a long day for us.
On Sunday, we woke up at 8:00 because we were going to go to Paltinis,
on the mountain, as we wanted to see the snow. When we got there, my guest
pupil was very happy because he saw the snow for the first time and he liked it
very much. Then we took a picture and went to the restaurant where we bought
something. After that we went together our teams to the dam from Raul Sadului,
being very excited because he hadn’t ever seen dams. We had an activity with
all children and teachers from Erasmus+. We went together to the Fairies Castle,
where we really enjoyed and had fun. Then we went to the Brukental Museum
where we have dressed in knights and princesses. When we got home, we ate,
played on the computer, and after that we played kendama.
On Monday, we woke up early in the morning because we had to go to
school because we have a workshop. When we arrived, we took a picture of the
group and then we went inside to the school where we saw those in the 2nd class
dancing. After that we went up on the school 2nd floor where we created picture
frames for us (the pupils from Romania made for teachers from other countries).
Then we went to the Class Hotel where we were supposed to meet and we had
2. free time. João and me played linguistic games, setting out words in English that
we had to say in Portuguese and Romanian and prepared for the next day.
On Tuesday, we went to the center of the city where we saw the City Hall,
the cathedral in the center and the symbol of our city. At the City Hall Sibiu, the
Deputy Mayor explained a little bit about the history of the city and then about
the symbol of our city. After finishing this visit, we had about half an hour at our
disposal to do what we want, and then to meet in the restaurant and sit down at
the table. After eating, my guest and me waited for my dad in the city center, as
we wanted to go to the zoo, and in the evening to the city mall. In the zoological
garden my pupil guest was very impressed by the deers because they were mild
and we could give them food. After that we went home and we played with my
brother and prepared ourselves for the following day.
On Wednesday, we went to the mountains together the other pupils and
teachers as we wanted to get to a sheepfold from there and to see the beautiful
views of the mountain. I seemed to be a beautiful adventure for me and we also
had fun a lot. When we arrived at the sheepfold, we ate a traditional Romanian
food, more specifically lamb and polenta. After eating, we went back together to
the hotel. Then, together my teammate Andrei and our guest pupils we went to a
games room where we played on computers. After two hours spent there, we
come back home and had fun between us.
On Thursday, we went to the Village Museum where we all saw the old
houses from our ancestors’ time, learned how to extract some vessels from the
land and how to fix them, how to restore the furniture or the wooden things. We
went to eat, and then, Vlad and Andrei decided to go back to the same games
room where we were with Andrei yesterday. We had fun and went home. Then
we played on my computer and prepared for the festive dinner. It was a very
3. beautiful party where we danced, ate and had a lot of fun. Then we came home
exhausted and slept.
Friday was my favorite day because I saw many touristic attractions. We
were in Alba Iulia City where we saw the 6 gates of the cathedral fortress and
even as security guard changes. We also learned how Alba Iulia was named. We
came then to Turda and while we were walking, we had fun. We even made a
few stops at fuel stations on the road. When we reached Turda, we visited there
the salt mine. I liked very much in Turda Salt Mine because it was beautiful and
quite spacious. We saw the second salt-removing machine from the mine that
remained in its place. After getting out of the salt mine, we all even had time for
souvenirs. On the way to return, there were the most beautiful moments because
we sang and had a lot of fun with the other children. And then we sang "Happy
Birthday" to Alex, the child who had come to Andrei. We arrived at about 9:00
at home, played but not very much.
On Saturday, we hadn’t such a long time to stay with the pupil who came
to me but we could have fun a little bit, to talk and to go to the mall. He made
his luggage and I took him to the airport together his team from where we said
goodbye to each other. It was a very exciting moment, indeed. I liked very much
working in this project and I hope to be organized others like that. I had to thank
for that to my coordinator and to my headmaster.
