my experience at V&A
1. This was probably one of my favourite school trips I have ever had throughout
my school journey. Normally don't go on school trips and though out my school
life I've barely gone on any. The train ride was probably one of the longest I've
ever been on. Although I found it kind of boring, I felt relaxed and I kept on
falling asleep every few minutes on the journey. as I looked out the window I
could see things I would never see in the area I lived in. the area the trains were
passing looked raw and urban. The wall had graffiti on them, it looked well done
and was also very creative, it was satisfying to look at. The journey there finally
ended and we then go to the train station at London. I haven't been to London for
a while and it was great seeing everything again. The buildings were enormous
and their shops looked so fancy and well made, I felt like I didn't fit in at all. we
then started walking through the block to the museum and we all saw a guy
playing a song that everyone recognized. Everyone started singing, it was
hilarious! But also awkward. We then hit the middle and we didn't know where
to go, we had two directions to pick from. one of our teachers went outside and
the other teachers told us to go forward. we then realized we went the right
directions while our teacher went the wrong direction and everyone started
worrying about her and if she would find us eventually
(And she did) but we just had to keep on going. We finally reached the museum
and then we entered. it was bright orange in the room we had to wait in line for.
it was very nostalgic and pretty. we then entered the actual museum and it was
huge. there were amazing statues and sculptures everywhere. Everything looked
so expensive. we then went to the main point of the museum and we gathered
up. We got told what we had to do then we went and explored. At first my
partner and me we to the area where all the Japanese exhibits where. There
were amazing paintings, sculptures, and lots of other fantastic stuff. We took
about 20 pictures for that area along because it was just so amazing. The was a
gold statue that caught my eye and it was one of the accent gods. The gold looked
so clean and pure, I could see my own reflection from it and I was so
mesmerized. Apparently, it was over 200 years old! My partner and I then went
to the area where the swords and armour area (where the cool stuff was) and we
glimmered at the swords, wishing we could get one. we then went to the
jewellery area, where there were many kinds of jewellery. They were made from
diamonds, silver, gold and many other expansive materials. the designs were
also amazing, they had rings, earrings necklaces and many more, they were cool
and pretty to look at. We then kept on exploring and ran into our friends on the
way. We sat down for a few minutes and talked about what we did. One of my
friends also gave me a delicious cookie, he told me to take one but I took two
because I was feeling hungry and he gave me this weird stare of annoyance ( but
I didn't care), but he really didn't care. We then decided to walk around again
together; we explored the area that was about post-impressionism. the art there
was so creative and eye-catching. it gave me a realization of how underrated
post-impressionism really is and how amazing of a type of art it is. we then
moved forward to the 20th century and saw some amazing paintings and graffiti
arts. it made me feel bad about my own skills just by looking at it, but it was also
motivating. I was curious about why there was no digital artwork there, i didn't
see one but who knows, maybe there was one but we just didn't notice it. we
then moved to the Buddhism area. there were many types of Buddhism art there
at it was so unique. the way they painted, the sculptures they had, it was
2. amazing. After finishing that area it was time for us to have our break. Some and
my buddies took a walk around London. we thought about going to Mc Donald’s
but then one of my friends wanted to go to Camden which was about 30 minutes
away but our break had been shortened for some idea. but in the end, we didn't
end up going so we just went to a sandwich shop and bought ourselves
sandwiches...but they had nice sandwiches so, I didn't mind. We then headed
back to the museum and he had to explore for one more hour. At this point, I just
wanted to go home, but we didn't have a choice so we did. We played around for
a bit just to keep each other entertained, but we got our work done. I was tired,
everyone was tired, but we had to keep going. We went to the 19th-century area
and there was a lot of cool, old fashion stuff there. Most of the arts were black at
white, but it was nostalgic. We then quickly moved on to the Elizabethan era. this
was where all the cool night armour was and the sharp blades were. I found it so
interesting about how they managed to fit so much amazing stuff into this
museum and how expensive everything must be, even if its the small things.
our time was finally up! We got to finally go home. and one of my other two
friends went to Camden. It was a fun journey there and back in my opinion. I had
a lot of fun with everyone and I think that I got closer to a few people! I learned a
lot of new stuff and I don't regret not going!
