This document summarizes a student project on using stone dust as a partial replacement for sand in concrete. The project includes 5 students and is guided by M. Ram Manikanta. The abstract indicates that stone dust will be used to replace sand in concrete mixtures from 0-50% to study workability and mechanical properties like compressive strength. The objectives are to determine the workability, properties of stone dust, and strength of concrete with stone dust replacement. A literature review presented findings that strength is highest at 40% replacement and stone dust concrete has good acid resistance. Materials needed, their availability, and costs are listed. The proposed methodology includes tests for workability, setting time, compressive strength and slump. The conclusion is

2. ABSTRACT
Construction activities are increasing day by day in different
regions, and it requires many natural resources. Stone dust
(SD) is one such alternative material which can be
successfully used in construction and used as partial
replacement of natural sandIn this study, sand is replaced by
stone dust in different percentages ranging from 0 to 50%.
The influence of replacement of sand by SD was analyzed
through evaluation of fresh property such as workability
(WKA), and mechanical properties, including compressive
strength (CS) and The specimen cubes were subjected to 7
Days, 28 Day moist curing. The results show that the
optimum replacement level of SD is 20% to 40% based on
the compressive strength and per cent loss of compressive
strength.

18. DISCUSSION FROM LITERATURE REVIEW
Common river sand is expensive due to excessive
cost of transportation from natural River. sand is
most commonly used fine aggregate in the
production of concrete poses the problem of
acute shortage in many areas and its continued
use has started posing serious problems with
respect to its availability, cost and environmental
impact.
19. Conclusions
On the basis of above experiment it can be conclude that.
Stone dust is to be used as fine agregate replacement in
concrete in partially or fully.
Use of stone dust as fine agregate in concrete is beneficial
in different manner such as environmental aspect non
availability of good quality of fine agregate.
The c s and t.s are found to high at 40% replacement level
of stone dust and decreasing beyond 40% level .
It is good resistance against acid attack.it has good water
absorption when observed at 28 days curing
It has bee concluded that replacement of natural sand with
40% level of stone dust in concrete is advantageous and
beneficial.
