WHAT IS AUTOCAD?
▪ The Word AutoCAD is made up of two words “Auto(logo of
company)”and CAD “(computer aided design)”.
▪ CAD (computer-aided design) software is used by architects, engineers,
drafters, artists, and others to create precision drawings or technical
illustrations.
▪ It is developed by Autodesk company.
▪ AutoCAD is commercial software for 2D and 3D computer aided design.

HISTORY OF AUTOCAD
▪ Autodesk, Inc. is an American multinational software corporation that
makes software for the architecture, engineering, construction,
manufacturing, media, and entertainment industries.
▪ Autodesk was founded by John Walker and 12 other co-founder in 1982.
▪ AutoCAD was first released in December 1982.
▪ AutoCAD had become the most popular CAD program worldwide.
