WORK HISTORY, SUMMARY
Worked in the forest products industry & construction trades for twenty four years: one year as manager of
a Lumber, Dry Kiln/Planer/Wood Preservative Operation; three years in residential home construction;
fourteen years in Oriented Strand Board Manufacturing as a shipping supervisor, plant superintendent,
plant manager, operations manager, and project manager for new plant construction; seven years in
procurement and sale of building products.
As Operations Manager, participated as a member of LP’s OSB Corporate Business & Senior Leadership
Team for over five years. As Eastern Region Operations Manager & Business Team leader, developed
regional strategic plans (1 to 5 years) to support the overall strategic plan for the OSB business (business
scenarios, SWOT analysis, critical business issues, key leverage areas). Helped develop and managed OSB
plant operating/capital budgets of $55,000,000+, and regional operations/capital budgets of $200,000,000+
with annual sales over $260,000,000. Had the responsibility for overseeing 4 OSB plants with 1.4 billion
ft of capacity. Was the first OSB regional operations manager for Louisiana Pacific to implement statistical
methods (SPC) with online data collection for the reduction of process variation, to improve product
quality and lower manufacturing costs in all of its mills; accumulated savings over four years were in
excess of $10,000,000 for the region. Participated as design team member on a project to implement
Continuous Maintenance Improvement disciplines across all of LP’s OSB mills to achieve 92% & greater
uptime. Was a member of the OSB Order Fulfillment Change Management Team that implemented
disciplines across the business that resulted in 96%+ on-time delivery, and 95%+ sales return compared to
Random Length pricing index, for all OSB products. As Operations & Plant Manager, participated in the
development of LP’s specialty OSB products.
As plant manager, established new historical production & quality records at the Athens OSB mill. As
project & plant manager for construction, startup, & operation of the Hanceville Alabama OSB plant,
contributed to one of the most successful startups of any OSB plant in Louisiana Pacific; $20,000,000
profit the first year of operation. Hanceville is still one of the best performing mills of its size operating in
LP today, holding numerous performance records within the OSB group.

2004-2016 Principal Partner, Southeastern Engineered Wood Products Inc.
Capitalized & established wholesale building products business with warehouse in
Waynesboro GA. Buying mill direct domestic & imported lumber, structural panels,
engineered wood products, metal roofing, etc. for resale: to retail supply yards, industrial
manufacturing, commercial & residential construction, secondary markets.
Responsibilities included procurement, warehousing, product sales & office management.
2001.2003 Plant Manager, Louisiana Pacific Athens Ga. Structural Panel Mill
Job responsibilities included: Business-line leadership, vision, teamwork &
communication to execute the Athens strategic & operational plans. Identifying the
overall needs for performance in coordination with the regional OSB business plan to
include: new product & market development, capital improvements, improved

2. technologies, optimizing plant operations & resource management. Maintaining
corporate, federal, state, & local compliance for employee safety & environmental
stewardship. Insured that all products met & exceeded customer and corporate quality
requirements. Development of mill’s annual operating plan (strategic/business plan,
operating/capital budgets, compliance needs, employee development, & product
development). Provide leadership, coaching, and resources to continually develop the
Athens business-line and functional support personnel. Meeting specified performance
goals established by the business and identified in personal performance plan.

1996.2001 Operations Manager, Louisiana Pacific Eastern Region Structural Panels
Job responsibilities included: Providing leadership to ensure that all facilities (4 OSB
plants with annual capacity of 1.4 billion feet) complied with safety, environmental, and
quality regulations & requirements. Develop regional business plan with strategic goals
and objectives to achieve results that were aligned with the OSB business unit overall
strategic plan. Review and audit performance of mill business plans and budgets, create
financial results reports. Budget forecasting & management. Conducting periodic audits
of production facilities and assist in project planning. Promoting personal skill
development for all employees through training, education, and other resources.
Coaching and evaluating performance of facility managers. Facilitating the development
of systems and processes for mill operations.
1994.1996 Plant Manager, Louisiana Pacific Hanceville Al. OSB Mill
Job responsibilities included: Provide frontline management for mill operations. Insured
that mill complied with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations & requirements.

1992.1994 Project Manager, Louisiana Pacific Hanceville Al. New Mill Construction
Job responsibilities included: Supervision of mill office construction; surveying & lay-
out work for plant grounds, roads, ponds, & equipment; land-clearing & grading
operations; concrete forming & pouring; utilities construction (natural gas,
potable/process water, sewer/storm-water). Communicating with Division General
Manager daily on all aspects of plant construction and progress. Employee hiring and
training for plant startup. Startup of the facility when construction was complete.
1989.1991 Plant Supt & Finishing/Ship Supv, Louisiana Pacific Athens Ga. OSB Mill
Job responsibilities included: Supervised mill floor manufacturing operations. Insured
that mill floor operation was in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality
regulations & requirements. Scheduling daily production runs to meet sales order file.
Supervised frontline production supervisors. Interviewing/hiring of plant floor
employees.
Supervised mill finishing & shipping operations. Insured that department met daily
production requirements and complied fully with all safety, environmental, and quality
regulations & requirements. Insured that products were shipped to customers on time.
Communicated with sales daily on order file status and production scheduling. Work
with Plant Superintendent on production schedules.
