2. SIMPLE PAST
The Simple Past, also know as the Simple Past, is the verb tense
used in the English language to narrate events that occurred at
your specific moment in the Past. Corresponds in its meaning to
the Past Simple Perfect Tense in Spanish.
The Simple Past generally has temporal expressions that refer
to the Past, such as, yesterday, nights/ week/ month/ year/
Tuesday, the when, how long…, ago, in 1997, etc.
3. SIMPLE PAST CHARACTERISTICS
Simple Past indicates the action performed at a specific moment
in the Past.
• The main verb of the sentence is always in the Past Simple.
• It has a simple composition of “subject and precicate verb”.
• It is only grammar tense that uses verbs in the Past Tense.
• Precicate can use expressions that determine the time of will
always be the verb that indicates whether the sentences is in
the Past Tense or not
4. TYPES
There are two Simple Past: regular and irregular. To Form the
Simple Past of regular verbs, we must add the suffix “ed”. No rule
is followed to form the Simple Past Tense of irregular verbs.
