Lucknow: The
Purvanchal Express-
way, the longest e-way
in Uttar Pradesh, inau-
gurated by Prime Min-
ister Narendra Modi in
November 2021, is not
even getting half the
traffic as projected,
prompting the toll col-
lection agency to quit.
Toll was levied on
the 342-km long ex-
pressway from May 1
and was expected to
collect `65 lakh a day.
However, it only col-
lects just about 45% of
the target.The reasons
for low traffic cited are
the incomplete Luc-
know Ring Road, an
incomplete bridge over
the Ganga in Bihar,
and high toll for heavy
vehicles.
According to the UP
Expressways Industri-
al Development Au-
thority (UPEIDA),
which held a meeting
in June, the toll agency
collected less than `7.5
crore between May 1
and 26 as against the
targeted `17 crore.
It was also flagged
that toll for heavy vehi-
cles on Purvanchal Ex-
pressway is almost 20%
more than the toll lev-
ied by NHAI on Nation-
al Highways, hence
heavy vehicles are us-
ing competing national
highways rather than
the Expressway
.
“Making the toll for
heavy vehicles on
Purvanchal Express-
way at par with NHAI
will increase collec-
tions,” the minutes of
the meeting say
.
The tolling agency,
Prakash Asphaltings
and Toll Highways (In-
dia) Ltd, has written to
the UP government
asking for a pre-mature
termination of the con-
tract, citing a clause
whereby it has commit-
ted an error in assess-
ing the realisable user
fee on the Purvanchal
Expressway, and has
expressed its willing-
ness for 25% of the per-
formance security fur-
nished by it to be for-
feited. The UPEIDA
Board on June 8 recom-
mended the termina-
tion of the contract
and a new process for
the selection of a new
tolling agency
.
Till a new agency
starts the job, the exist-
ing agency would con-
tinue to do the job, as
per the contract clause.
Light motor vehicles
such as cars pay `675 as
toll tax on the Purvan-
chal Expressway, light
commercial vehicles
pay `1,065, while heavy
vehicles have to pay
`2,145.

LOW TRAFFIC
The reasons for low traffic cited are the incom-
plete Lucknow Ring Road, an incomplete bridge
over the Ganga in Bihar, and high toll for heavy
vehicles. According to the UP Expressways Indus-
trial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which held a
meeting in June, the toll agency collected less than
`7.5 crore between May 1 and 26 as against the
targeted `17 crore.

On the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UNESCO, considering this great tradition of India as
useful for the world, has declared World Yoga Day. This is the global acceptance of our tradition and culture
OUR GREAT TRADITION OF YOGA IS
CONNECTED WITH PEOPLE’S MIND
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
he word yoga is derived
from the Sanskrit
root
‘Yuj’. It means to join. In
the scriptures related to
yoga, yoga has been desig-
nated as the art and sci-
ence of healthy living. For
the first time here, Maha-
rishi Patanjali
codified
the Yoga Sutras by organ-
izing various meditation
practices.
If you go to the
Indian culture of the Ve-
das, then you will also
meet the tradition of Yoga
there. Hiranyagarbha
preached
yoga at the be-
ginning of creation. The
sages like Patanjali, Jai-
mini etc. later made it ac-
cessible to everyone.
Yoga has been accepted
here from the very begin-
ning as an ideal way of life
with a healthy body and a
healthy mind. Maharish
i
Arvind has described
the
practice of yoga as very
important for the overall
vision of life. I believe that
yoga is not a therapy, it is
the greatest means of self-
development. It has al-
ways been getting im-
portance here in us
only as a method of reali-
zation with the Supreme.
In such times when the
mind constantly wanders
in the blind race of mate-
riality, yoga is very useful
for mental peace and con-
tentment. On the initia-
tive of Prime Minister
Shri Narendra
Modi, UN-
ESCO, considering this
great tradition of India as
useful for the world, has
declared World Yoga Day.
This is the global accept-
ance of our tradition
and culture.
Indian culture is
associated with
loftyvaluesof life.
Yoga is the sound
of that culture.
This is the ideal
way of life, in
which the mind is
attached to the lofty
ideas of welfare
not only
for itself but for the whole
world. It is well known
that we have always be-
lieved in connectin
g, not
breaking. Yoga is the foun-
dation of this. Maharishi
Arvind has explained
yoga very deeply
. He
wrote, “Yoga does not
mean to give up life, but to
face the problems
and
challenges of life with
courage, keeping faith in
the divine power.” Accord-
ingtoAurobindo,yogais
not merely the
practice of dif-
ficult asanas
and pranay-
ama, but self-
less surren-
der to God
and trans-
forming one-
self into divine
form through
mental education.
Yoga is related to the
mind with the body
. If the
mind is healthy, then the
body automatically moves
towards health. In intui-
tion, a person is exposed to
ignorance
within himself.
Yoga helps with this. I
have felt it many times.
Maharishi Aurobindo has
given utmost importance
tointuitioninlife.Because
of this, humanity
has
reached the present stage
of progress. If the modern
generation joins the yogic
routine, it is made manda-
tory in schools and colleg-
es, then many complexi-
ties related to life can be
solved very easily
.
We all know that it is
the Prana Shakti that con-
trols all the activities and
arrangements of the body
.
Accumula
tion of life force
and its arrangem
ent is
possible
only through
yoga. Yoga is naturally re-
lated to Pranayam
a. Pra-
nayama awakens our in-
ner energy and makes it
healthy, balanced and ac-
tive. It is said that yoga
controls the tendencies of
the mind. Its meaning is
that yoga controls the in-
stincts related to our mind
and makes it conducive
to
a healthy life. Bhastrika
,
Kapal Bhati, Tribandha,
Anulom
Vilom, Bhra-
mari, etc. are such easy
yogas, which everyone
can practice with little ef-
fort. If these are done
regularly, then not only
the body but the mind also
remains healthy. For a
healthy, happy, and well-
being life, these activities
related to yoga are also
useful in the way that it
gives direction
to a posi-
tive life.
The meaning of yoga is
to know the powers with-
in, harness them and to
awaken
one’s infinite
powers within by realiz-
ing the inner self. Swami
Vivekananda had advised
yogis in his time that
their conduct and they
themselves should be-
come proof. What he
meant was that yoga
should be kept away from
profession
alism. It should
be seen as the welfare of
humanity, not as a mira-
cle. This is the greatest
need of the hour.
Lord Shri Krishna
has said in the Bhagavad
Gita, ‘Yogah Karmasu
Kaushalam’ which means
doing any work with skill
is yoga. This is a matter of
very deep meaning. If we

OUR GREAT TRADITION OF YOGA IS
CONNECTED WITH PEOPLE’S MIND
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
he word yoga is derived
from the Sanskrit root
‘Yuj’. It means to join. In
the scriptures related to
yoga, yoga has been desig-
nated as the art and sci-
ence of healthy living. For
the first time here, Maha-
rishi Patanjali codified
the Yoga Sutras by organ-
izing various meditation
practices. If you go to the
Indian culture of the Ve-
das, then you will also
meet the tradition of Yoga
there. Hiranyagarbha
preached yoga at the be-
ginning of creation. The
sages like Patanjali, Jai-
mini etc. later made it ac-
cessible to everyone.
Yoga has been accepted
here from the very begin-
ning as an ideal way of life
with a healthy body and a
healthy mind. Maharishi
Arvind has described the
practice of yoga as very
important for the overall
vision of life. I believe that
yoga is not a therapy, it is
the greatest means of self-
development. It has al-
ways been getting im-
portance here in us
only as a method of reali-
zation with the Supreme.
In such times when the
mind constantly wanders
in the blind race of mate-
riality, yoga is very useful
for mental peace and con-
tentment. On the initia-
tive of Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi, UN-
ESCO, considering this
great tradition of India as
useful for the world, has
declared World Yoga Day.
This is the global accept-
ance of our tradition
and culture.
Indian culture is
associated with
loftyvaluesof life.
Yoga is the sound
of that culture.
This is the ideal
way of life, in
which the mind is
attached to the lofty
ideas of welfare
not only
for itself but for the whole
world. It is well known
that we have always be-
lieved in connecting, not
breaking. Yoga is the foun-
dation of this. Maharishi
Arvind has explained
yoga very deeply
. He
wrote, “Yoga does not
mean to give up life, but to
face the problems and
challenges of life with
courage, keeping faith in
the divine power.” Accord-
ingtoAurobindo,yogais
not merely the
practice of dif-
ficult asanas
and pranay-
ama, but self-
less surren-
der to God
and trans-
forming one-
self into divine
form through
mental education.
Yoga is related to the
mind with the body
. If the
mind is healthy, then the
body automatically moves
towards health. In intui-
tion, a person is exposed to
ignorance within himself.
Yoga helps with this. I
have felt it many times.
Maharishi Aurobindo has
given utmost importance
tointuitioninlife.Because
of this, humanity has
reached the present stage
of progress. If the modern
generation joins the yogic
routine, it is made manda-
tory in schools and colleg-
es, then many complexi-
ties related to life can be
solved very easily
.
We all know that it is
the Prana Shakti that con-
trols all the activities and
arrangements of the body
.
Accumulation of life force
and its arrangement is
possible only through
yoga. Yoga is naturally re-
lated to Pranayama. Pra-
nayama awakens our in-
ner energy and makes it
healthy, balanced and ac-
tive. It is said that yoga
controls the tendencies of
the mind. Its meaning is
that yoga controls the in-
stincts related to our mind
and makes it conducive to
a healthy life. Bhastrika,
Kapal Bhati, Tribandha,
Anulom Vilom, Bhra-
mari, etc. are such easy
yogas, which everyone
can practice with little ef-
fort. If these are done
regularly, then not only
the body but the mind also
remains healthy. For a
healthy, happy, and well-
being life, these activities
related to yoga are also
useful in the way that it
gives direction to a posi-
tive life.
The meaning of yoga is
to know the powers with-
in, harness them and to
awaken one’s infinite
powers within by realiz-
ing the inner self. Swami
Vivekananda had advised
yogis in his time that
their conduct and they
themselves should be-
come proof. What he
meant was that yoga
should be kept away from
professionalism. It should
be seen as the welfare of
humanity, not as a mira-
cle. This is the greatest
need of the hour.
Lord Shri Krishna
has said in the Bhagavad
Gita, ‘Yogah Karmasu
Kaushalam’ which means
doing any work with skill
is yoga. This is a matter of
very deep meaning. If we
understand this, then we
will be able to understand
more closely our lifestyle

New Delhi : The notifi-
cation of Agneepath
Scheme of Army Re-
cruitment is about to be
released and the re-
cruitment process will
start soon. In this, the
appointment will be
done in the recruitment
rally as before. After the
announcement of this
scheme, within two
days, the government
changed the rule and
increased the age limit
of appointment from 21
to 23 years. This was
done because the rein-
statement in the army
was closed for the last
two years. Because of
this, the age limit for
the recruitment of
lakhs of youth in the
army had ended and ex-
tending this by two
years will give them a
chance to be reinstated
inthearmyasAgniveer.
However, this will cre-
ate a new problem.
Increasing the age
limit will greatly in-
crease the number of
youth participating in
the recruitment rally.
That is why it is being
said that just as the cen-
tral government has in-
creased the age limit, in
the same way, it can in-
crease the number for
the first year as well.
According to the plan so
far, a total of 46 thou-
sand youth are to be re-
cruited in the three ser-
vices in the first year.
This number is also
very less as compared to
the recruitment done
every year. The last time
when the recruitment
process was carried out,
80 thousand youth were
recruited. Even before
that an average of 60 to
70 thousands youths
were being recruited.
Since the appointment
has been closed for two
years, a large number
of youth have come un-
der the age limit re-
quired for appointment.
Duetonon-appointment
for two years, close to 1.5
lakh posts have become
vacant. Therefore, if the
government has given
relaxation in the age
limit in the first year,
then the number can
also increase slightly

amount of DA arrears
is decided by the em-

New Delhi : The Con-
gress party has re-
placed Randeep Sur-
jewala with Jairam
Ramesh as the in-
charge of the commu-
nication department.
He is in charge of me-
dia, social media and
all communication.
There was talk earlier
that Randeep Surjewa-
la is in charge of Kar-
nataka, where elec-
tions are due next year,
so the communication
department could be
taken over from him.
Now the question is,
will Jairam Ramesh re-
tain or change the old
team of Communica-
tions Department?
There is speculation
about AICC secretary
and co-in-charge of
communication de-
partment Pranav Jha,
social media in-charge
Rohan Gupta and me-
dia department’s
Vineet Punia. After
Ramesh became the
head of the communi-
cation department,
there is a general per-
ception that the num-
ber of people working
in Hindi will be less
and their importance
will also decrease.
In Randeep Surjewa-
la’s team, the number
of people who spoke,
understood and worked
in Hindi were more.
Most of the people were
from Hindi belt, but
this situation will not
remain with Ramesh.
He is from Karnataka
and has a team working
with him in English.
Secondly, they are lead-
ers living in their ‘in-
tellectual ego’, so they
do not give preference
to too many people.
Thirdly, Ramesh is not
too active on social me-
dia. By the time he was
appointed the head of
the communications
department, he had 1.5
lakh followers on Twit-
ter and he used to fol-
low only 18 people. In
contrast, Surjewala
had more than 17 lakh
followers. That’s why
many Congress leaders
are believing that
Jairam Ramesh him-
self and the entire team
will have to work hard-
er and at the same time
give preference to Eng-
lish speaking along
with Hindi speaking
individuals. This is also
necessary because al-
most the entire media
team of BJP is going to
work in Hindi only
.
Under Jairam, will Cong’ ‘connect’ improve?

The struggle of the
‘Saifaiclan’tomaintain
dynasty, political heft
Gyanendra Kumar Shukla
Lucknow: SP patri-
arch Mulayam Singh
Yadav is an important
figure among the
founders of political
dynasties in North In-
dia; who transformed
the Saifai clan into the
most influential polit-
ical family of the
country with very pre-
cise strategy and con-
certed efforts. To
achieve this position,
he made tremendous
efforts,
Political experts be-
lieve that after analyz-
ing caste equations
and vote arithmetic,
Mulayam Singh chose
some parliamentary
seats, and then won
these seats. After be-
ing convinced that the
seat concerned would
be included in the
stronghold of SP, lat-
er, the electoral legacy
of this safe seat was
handed over to a
member of the Saifai
family.
This viewpoint is
ratified by the fact
that Mulayam Singh
Yadav, who became
MP from Mainpuri
parliamentary seat in
1996, contested elec-
tions from Sambhal
and Kannauj in 1999
and won from both the
seats. But he left the
Kannauj seat for the
sake of making a po-
litical career for his
son Akhilesh.
In the by-election
held for this seat in
1999, Akhilesh won
the election by a huge
margin and became
an MP for the first
time. In the 2004 gen-
eral elections, Mulay-
am contested and won
from Mainpuri but
later left this seat for
his nephew Dharmen-
dra Yadav. Latter
won the by-election on
this seat.
The SP founder
won elections from
Mainpuri and Azam-
garh in 2014. Again he
preferred to quit
Mainpuri, after which
his nephew’s son Tej
Pratap Yadav became
MP by winning the
by-election here. On
the lines of his father
Mulayam, Akhilesh
contested the 2009
elections from two
seats, Kannauj and
Firozabad and won
both. After this, he
left Firozabad seat,
where his wife Dim-
ple Yadav was fielded
in the by-election.
However, she was de-
feated by Raj Babbar
of Congress.
In the 2014 elec-
tions, despite the Modi
wave, Dimple Yadav
defeated Subrata
Pathak of BJP from
Kannauj seat. At the
same time, Akshay Ya-
dav of Saifai family
won the election from
Firozabad seat in the
same election.
Earlier, after be-
coming the UP CM in
2012, Akhilesh fielded
his wife Dimple from
his vacant Kannauj
seat and she won un-
opposed. And in this
way Firozabad, Main-
puri, Kannauj became
the bastions of SP.
The Badaun seat
also remained with
the SP for long . From
here, Salim Sherwani
of SP won 4 consecu-
tive times since 1996;
later Dharmendra Ya-
dav became MP from
here. However, he lost
the election last time,
after which the search
for a safe seat was go-
ing on for him, which
zeroed in on Azam-
garh parliamentary
seat.

Mayawati said in a

plemented in haste like

sation)and‘taalaabandi’

fected crores of youths

arrogant attitude.”
The “unrestrained
statements” by the BJP
leaders and the “nar-
row politics” of spread-
ing confusion among
the people and creating
difficulties for the army
should immediately
end, she said in another
tweet.
Akhilesh Yadav also
took to Twitter to con-
demn the scheme.
“The youths are feel-
ing disappointed and
there is a feeling of fear
and insecurity towards
their future. This will
prove to be fatal for the
country’s development.
The responsibility of
the government is to

try’s future. The opposi-
tion to the BJP from all
sides shows it has lost

lack of security.
Akhlaq’s daughter
Shaista (28), a key wit-
ness of the 2015 inci-

in the court due to lack
of security as police
personnel remain en-
gaged in law and order
duty in the wake of the

recruitment scheme,
family’s lawyer Yusuf
Saifi said.
The case is being
heard by fast-track

mar Singh at the Dis-
trict and Sessions

Greater Noida.
Shaista had on June
14 started recording her
statement and was sup-
posed to continue it on
June 17 also but securi-
ty could not be provided
to her by the police who
were engaged in law
and order duty on that
day too, the lawyer said.
In view of police’s en-
gagement in other du-
ties, adequate security
could not be provided to
Shaista and hence she
could not reach the
court after which the
next date was deferred
to July 4, Saifi said.

MAINTAINING STRONGHOLD
ONE OF MAJOR CHALLENGES
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s victory in the 2019
elections in Azamgarh with a vote share of
60.4 percent proved that this seat is one of the
powerful strongholds of SP. In the assembly
elections too, the SP won all the seats here.
Akhilesh’s cousin Dharmendra Yadav is now
in the electoral fray from this family bastion.
Maintaining this stronghold is one of the major
challenges of the SP.

  • 1. First India Bureau Lucknow: The Purvanchal Express- way, the longest e-way in Uttar Pradesh, inau- gurated by Prime Min- ister Narendra Modi in November 2021, is not even getting half the traffic as projected, prompting the toll col- lection agency to quit. Toll was levied on the 342-km long ex- pressway from May 1 and was expected to collect `65 lakh a day. However, it only col- lects just about 45% of the target. The reasons for low traffic cited are the incomplete Luc- know Ring Road, an incomplete bridge over the Ganga in Bihar, and high toll for heavy vehicles. According to the UP Expressways Industri- al Development Au- thority (UPEIDA), which held a meeting in June, the toll agency collected less than `7.5 crore between May 1 and 26 as against the targeted `17 crore. It was also flagged that toll for heavy vehi- cles on Purvanchal Ex- pressway is almost 20% more than the toll lev- ied by NHAI on Nation- al Highways, hence heavy vehicles are us- ing competing national highways rather than the Expressway . “Making the toll for heavy vehicles on Purvanchal Express- way at par with NHAI will increase collec- tions,” the minutes of the meeting say . The tolling agency, Prakash Asphaltings and Toll Highways (In- dia) Ltd, has written to the UP government asking for a pre-mature termination of the con- tract, citing a clause whereby it has commit- ted an error in assess- ing the realisable user fee on the Purvanchal Expressway, and has expressed its willing- ness for 25% of the per- formance security fur- nished by it to be for- feited. The UPEIDA Board on June 8 recom- mended the termina- tion of the contract and a new process for the selection of a new tolling agency . Till a new agency starts the job, the exist- ing agency would con- tinue to do the job, as per the contract clause. Light motor vehicles such as cars pay `675 as toll tax on the Purvan- chal Expressway, light commercial vehicles pay `1,065, while heavy vehicles have to pay `2,145. WHITE ELEPHANT A view of the Purvanchal Expressway LOW TRAFFIC The reasons for low traffic cited are the incom- plete Lucknow Ring Road, an incomplete bridge over the Ganga in Bihar, and high toll for heavy vehicles. According to the UP Expressways Indus- trial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which held a meeting in June, the toll agency collected less than `7.5 crore between May 1 and 26 as against the targeted `17 crore. Poor revenue on Purvanchal Expressway forces toll agency to quit PM NARENDRA MODI ON 2-DAY VISIT TO KARNATAKA ‘Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat’  PM Modi inaugurates rail and road projects worth `28,000 cr  PM says that Centre working to make Bengaluru free of traffic jams  PM Modi inaugurates Centre for Brain Research at the IIS Moni Sharma Bengaluru: PM Naren- dra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for rail and road infra- structure projects worth over Rs 28,000 crore in Karnataka. President has been asked to take this into consideration. —Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP On the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UNESCO, considering this great tradition of India as useful for the world, has declared World Yoga Day. This is the global acceptance of our tradition and culture OUR GREAT TRADITION OF YOGA IS CONNECTED WITH PEOPLE’S MIND INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA he word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’. It means to join. In the scriptures related to yoga, yoga has been desig- nated as the art and sci- ence of healthy living. For the first time here, Maha- rishi Patanjali codified the Yoga Sutras by organ- izing various meditation practices. If you go to the Indian culture of the Ve- das, then you will also meet the tradition of Yoga there. Hiranyagarbha preached yoga at the be- ginning of creation. The sages like Patanjali, Jai- mini etc. later made it ac- cessible to everyone. Yoga has been accepted here from the very begin- ning as an ideal way of life with a healthy body and a healthy mind. Maharish i Arvind has described the practice of yoga as very important for the overall vision of life. I believe that yoga is not a therapy, it is the greatest means of self- development. It has al- ways been getting im- portance here in us only as a method of reali- zation with the Supreme. In such times when the mind constantly wanders in the blind race of mate- riality, yoga is very useful for mental peace and con- tentment. On the initia- tive of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, UN- ESCO, considering this great tradition of India as useful for the world, has declared World Yoga Day. This is the global accept- ance of our tradition and culture. Indian culture is associated with loftyvaluesof life. Yoga is the sound of that culture. This is the ideal way of life, in which the mind is attached to the lofty ideas of welfare not only for itself but for the whole world. It is well known that we have always be- lieved in connectin g, not breaking. Yoga is the foun- dation of this. Maharishi Arvind has explained yoga very deeply . He wrote, “Yoga does not mean to give up life, but to face the problems and challenges of life with courage, keeping faith in the divine power.” Accord- ingtoAurobindo, yogais not merely the practice of dif- ficult asanas and pranay- ama, but self- less surren- der to God and trans- forming one- self into divine form through mental education. Yoga is related to the mind with the body . If the mind is healthy, then the body automatically moves towards health. In intui- tion, a person is exposed to ignorance within himself. Yoga helps with this. I have felt it many times. Maharishi Aurobindo has given utmost importance tointuitioninlife.Because of this, humanity has reached the present stage of progress. If the modern generation joins the yogic routine, it is made manda- tory in schools and colleg- es, then many complexi- ties related to life can be solved very easily . We all know that it is the Prana Shakti that con- trols all the activities and arrangements of the body . Accumula tion of life force and its arrangem ent is possible only through yoga. Yoga is naturally re- lated to Pranayam a. Pra- nayama awakens our in- ner energy and makes it healthy, balanced and ac- tive. It is said that yoga controls the tendencies of the mind. Its meaning is that yoga controls the in- stincts related to our mind and makes it conducive to a healthy life. Bhastrika , Kapal Bhati, Tribandha, Anulom Vilom, Bhra- mari, etc. are such easy yogas, which everyone can practice with little ef- fort. If these are done regularly, then not only the body but the mind also remains healthy. For a healthy, happy, and well- being life, these activities related to yoga are also useful in the way that it gives direction to a posi- tive life. This is the global accept- ance of our tradition and culture. Indian culture is associated with loftyvaluesof life. Yoga is the sound of that culture. This is the ideal way of life, in which the mind is attached to the lofty ideas of welfare not only for itself but for the whole world. It is well known that we have always be- lieved in connecting, not breaking. Accumulation of life force and its arrangement is possible only through yoga. Yoga is naturally re- lated to Pranayama. Pra- nayama awakens our in- ner energy and makes it healthy, balanced and ac- tive. It is said that yoga controls the tendencies of the mind. Its meaning is that yoga controls the in- stincts related to our mind and makes it conducive to a healthy life. Bhastrika, Kapal Bhati, Tribandha, Anulom Vilom, Bhra- mari, etc. are such easy yogas, which everyone can practice with little ef- fort. If these are done regularly, then not only the body but the mind also remains healthy. For a healthy, happy, and well- being life, these activities related to yoga are also useful in the way that it gives direction to a posi- tive life. The meaning of yoga is to know the powers with- in, harness them and to awaken one’s infinite powers within by realiz- ing the inner self. Swami Vivekananda had advised yogis in his time that their conduct and they themselves should be- come proof. What he meant was that yoga should be kept away from professionalism. It should be seen as the welfare of humanity, not as a mira- cle. This is the greatest need of the hour. Lord Shri Krishna has said in the Bhagavad Gita, ‘Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam’ which means doing any work with skill is yoga. This is a matter of very deep meaning. If we understand this, then we will be able to understand more closely our lifestyle related to yoga contained inIndianculture.Knowing the mind and adapting life accordingly ,thatisthereal yoga. Sharat K Verma New Delhi : The notifi- cation of Agneepath Scheme of Army Re- cruitment is about to be released and the re- cruitment process will start soon. In this, the appointment will be done in the recruitment rally as before. After the announcement of this scheme, within two days, the government changed the rule and increased the age limit of appointment from 21 to 23 years. This was done because the rein- statement in the army was closed for the last two years. Because of this, the age limit for the recruitment of lakhs of youth in the army had ended and ex- tending this by two years will give them a chance to be reinstated inthearmyasAgniveer. However, this will cre- ate a new problem. Increasing the age limit will greatly in- crease the number of youth participating in the recruitment rally. That is why it is being said that just as the cen- tral government has in- creased the age limit, in the same way, it can in- crease the number for the first year as well. According to the plan so far, a total of 46 thou- sand youth are to be re- cruited in the three ser- vices in the first year. This number is also very less as compared to the recruitment done every year. The last time when the recruitment process was carried out, 80 thousand youth were recruited. Even before that an average of 60 to 70 thousands youths were being recruited. Since the appointment has been closed for two years, a large number of youth have come un- der the age limit re- quired for appointment. Duetonon-appointment for two years, close to 1.5 lakh posts have become vacant. Therefore, if the government has given relaxation in the age limit in the first year, then the number can also increase slightly . He is in charge of me- dia, social media and all communication. There was talk earlier that Randeep Surjewa- la is in charge of Kar- nataka, where elec- tions are due next year, so the communication department could be taken over from him. Now the question is, will Jairam Ramesh re- tain or change the old team of Communica- tions Department? There is speculation about AICC secretary and co-in-charge of communication de- partment Pranav Jha, social media in-charge Rohan Gupta and me- dia department’s Vineet Punia. After Ramesh became the head of the communi- cation department, there is a general per- ception that the num- ber of people working in Hindi will be less and their importance will also decrease. In Randeep Surjewa- la’s team, the number of people who spoke, understood and worked in Hindi were more. Most of the people were from Hindi belt, but this situation will not remain with Ramesh. He is from Karnataka and has a team working with him in English. Secondly, they are lead- ers living in their ‘in- tellectual ego’, so they do not give preference to too many people. Thirdly, Ramesh is not too active on social me- dia. By the time he was appointed the head of the communications department, he had 1.5 lakh followers on Twit- ter and he used to fol- low only 18 people. In contrast, Surjewala had more than 17 lakh followers. That’s why many Congress leaders are believing that Jairam Ramesh him- self and the entire team will have to work hard- er and at the same time give preference to Eng- lish speaking along with Hindi speaking individuals. This is also necessary because al- most the entire media team of BJP is going to work in Hindi only . Under Jairam, will Cong’ ‘connect’ improve? To achieve this position, he made tremendous efforts, Political experts be- lieve that after analyz- ing caste equations and vote arithmetic, Mulayam Singh chose some parliamentary seats, and then won these seats. After be- ing convinced that the seat concerned would be included in the stronghold of SP, lat- er, the electoral legacy of this safe seat was handed over to a member of the Saifai family. This viewpoint is ratified by the fact that Mulayam Singh Yadav, who became MP from Mainpuri parliamentary seat in 1996, contested elec- tions from Sambhal and Kannauj in 1999 and won from both the seats. But he left the Kannauj seat for the sake of making a po- litical career for his son Akhilesh. In the by-election held for this seat in 1999, Akhilesh won the election by a huge margin and became an MP for the first time. In the 2004 gen- eral elections, Mulay- am contested and won from Mainpuri but later left this seat for his nephew Dharmen- dra Yadav. Latter won the by-election on this seat. The SP founder won elections from Mainpuri and Azam- garh in 2014. Again he preferred to quit Mainpuri, after which his nephew’s son Tej Pratap Yadav became MP by winning the by-election here. On the lines of his father Mulayam, Akhilesh contested the 2009 elections from two seats, Kannauj and Firozabad and won both. After this, he left Firozabad seat, where his wife Dim- ple Yadav was fielded in the by-election. However, she was de- feated by Raj Babbar of Congress. In the 2014 elec- tions, despite the Modi wave, Dimple Yadav defeated Subrata Pathak of BJP from Kannauj seat. At the same time, Akshay Ya- dav of Saifai family won the election from Firozabad seat in the same election. Earlier, after be- coming the UP CM in 2012, Akhilesh fielded his wife Dimple from his vacant Kannauj seat and she won un- opposed. And in this way Firozabad, Main- puri, Kannauj became the bastions of SP. The Badaun seat also remained with the SP for long . From here, Salim Sherwani of SP won 4 consecu- tive times since 1996; later Dharmendra Ya- dav became MP from here. However, he lost the election last time, after which the search for a safe seat was go- ing on for him, which zeroed in on Azam- garh parliamentary seat. The government should avoid having an arrogant attitude.” The “unrestrained statements” by the BJP leaders and the “nar- row politics” of spread- ing confusion among the people and creating difficulties for the army should immediately end, she said in another tweet. Akhilesh Yadav also took to Twitter to con- demn the scheme. “The youths are feel- ing disappointed and there is a feeling of fear and insecurity towards their future. This will prove to be fatal for the country’s development. The responsibility of the government is to improve the present and shape up the coun- try’s future. The opposi- tion to the BJP from all sides shows it has lost its support base,” he wrote in Hindi. In another tweet, he told the government not to nudge anyone else to bat for Agnipath. Noida (PTI): A fast- track court in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Bud- dh Nagar hearing the Mohammad Akhlaq lynching case on Mon- day deferred till July 4 the recording of state- ment of his daughter after she could not de- pose before it due to lack of security. Akhlaq’s daughter Shaista (28), a key wit- ness of the 2015 inci- dent, could not depose in the court due to lack of security as police personnel remain en- gaged in law and order duty in the wake of the Bharat Bandh call over the Agnipath military recruitment scheme, family’s lawyer Yusuf Saifi said. The case is being heard by fast-track court judge Anil Ku- mar Singh at the Dis- trict and Sessions Court in Surajpur, Greater Noida.
