About HBL
Pakistan’s Largest Bank
HBL was the first commercial bank to be established in Pakistan in 1947. With a history that is
inextricably linked with the history of Pakistan itself, HBL has always been a bank and a brand for the
masses. Over the years, HBL has grown its branch network and become the largest private sector bank
with over 1,590 branches and more than 1,300 ATMs across the country, servicing a customer base
that exceeds 6 million relationships.
HBL’s key areas of operation encompass product offerings and services in Retail Banking, Investment
Banking, Commercial and Corporate Banking; of which HBL has the largest portfolio in Pakistan. SME
and Agriculture lending programmes and banking services are also offered in urban and rural centres.
HBL is currently rated AAA (Long term) and A-1+ (Short term) with 'Stable' outlook and has a balance
sheet size of USD 16.285 billion. It is also the first Pakistani bank to raise Tier II Capital from external
sources.
Global Presence
HBL has presence in 24 countries, subsidiaries in Hong Kong and the UK, affiliates in Nepal, Kenya and
Kyrgyzstan and representative offices in Iran and China. In the UK and GCC, HBL focuses on trade
finance and remittances for the South Asian diaspora in addition to basic banking facilities.

Retail and Consumer Banking
With over 6 million relationships and a network of over 1,500 branches and 1,000 ATMs in Pakistan,
HBL is the largest retail bank in the country. HBL caters to all market segments, offering products that

CBG's customer base spans a wide range of industries which include large groups in Pakistan’s
traditional textile sector to new ventures in the cement, power, fertilizer, and telecommunication

Investment Banking
HBL Investment Banking (IB) is the most active corporate finance house in Pakistan in terms of
securing, structuring and executing transactions. HBL’s investment banking unit in Pakistan offers a
complete spectrum of investment banking services to cover project finance advisory and debt
arrangement, debt syndications, capital market placement & advisory, equity capital markets and
M&A advisory. HBL IB, as one of the leading financial services provider in the domestic as well as
international markets, has unmatched expertise of managing transactions in excess of USD 16.5 billion
since 2007. HBL has also structured and successfully executed landmark transactions in Pakistan,
including Pakistan's first hydel based independent power producer, a deal which earned the bank

Global Treasury
Treasury services play an integral role in today's global environment as interconnected economies are
rapidly blurring physical boundaries in international trade. HBL in its capacity as the largest
commercial bank in Pakistan also has the largest treasury in terms of volumes transacted. HBL

Financial Institutions and Global Trade Services
HBL’s Financial Institutions and Global Trade Services (FI-GTS) unit provides comprehensive product
coverage to a wide range of financial institutions from commercial banks, investment banks, insurance
companies and non-bank financial institutions. As Pakistan’s largest multinational, HBL is a
strategically aligned partner for international banks handling trade flows between counterparties from
around the globe. Our multilateral trade finance arrangements with International Finance Corporation
(IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

Global Remittance Business
With increasing national importance being given to the home remittance industry, HBL has structured
Global Remittance Business (GRB) Division in order to exclusively exercise concerted efforts in channeling
remittances to Pakistan.An inflow of remittances in excess of USD 3 billion was routed through HBL in the
year 2013, displaying an exponential growth. HBL’s success is derived from its strong international presence
vis-à-vis collaboration with tie-ups in crucial remittance concentrated regions, as well as HBL’s own
international network in 25 countries. GRB is committed to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and their loved
ones by ensuring impeccable service standards, real time integrated solutions for instant payments and
continued product development.This together with massive outreach through largest branch network
allows HBL to maintain its position as a market leader and pioneer in remittances.
Payment Services
Payment Services consists of four primary business units - Cash Management, Cards, Branchless Banking
and Alternate Delivery Channels - which strive to provide financial services to a broad range of customers
in Pakistan, as well as several countries across the world. Alternate Delivery Channels continue to gain
stride and this success is demonstrated through the growth of HBL’s ATM network by 38% across 2012.
With over 1,300 ATMs we provide access not only through our branches, but also at numerous off-site
locations across the country. HBL offers branchless banking services as well, offering its customers a
convenient and secure way to carry out financial activities such as domestic funds transfer and bill
payments through a network of retail outlets.
