6. Main Phases of EASP Implementation Plan of Actions
Communication and Mobilization : Communicate country-partners on
SSM, consultations and stakeholder dialogues, Dissemination of IP
information and products
Institutionalization and Governance : Setting up Implementation
Structures, establishing Partnerships and Synergies
Resource Mobilization : Internal budget and external funds/sources,
additional funds and resources diversification
Operationalization : Implementation Plan of Actions for each Pillar, Scale
up of SSM best practices
Monitoring and Evaluation: Establishing monitoring and evaluation
programs, Revising program of measures, Enforcement of the rules of
procedures and timeframe to oversee, monitoring, reporting

7. • Main objective of the entire strategy of EASP is achieve to sustainable
soil management (SSM) practices,
• The implementation of other Pillars was aimed at realization of Pillar 1.
Thus, SSM introduction is the core activity in the Implementation Plan of
Action for EASP.

8. Objective : Promote sustainable management of soil resources for soil
protection
Outcome 1. Preparation of a report on the barriers preventing SSM application
and the recommended SSM practices at regional and national levels
– Output 1.1 Preliminary assessment of the barriers and shortcomings preventing
the adoption of SSM practices at the regional level
– Output 1.2 Assessment of the barriers and shortcomings preventing the
adoption of SSM practices at the national level
– Output 1.3. Identification of appropriate sustainable soil management practices
and systems at regional and national levels using existing databases
– Output 1.4. Dissemination of the results of the assessment on the barriers
preventing SSM application and the recommended SSM practices at regional and
national levels

9. Output 1.1 Preliminary assessment of the barriers and shortcomings
preventing the adoption of SSM practices at the regional level
The output requires the activity: to analyze the current situation in
the countries of the region and identify the barriers
The indicator of the activity will be: the general barriers identified
and included in the Implementation Plan
Timeline: 2015-2016
Partner institutions: EASP members, MoFAL, ECFS, etc.
Budget and funding: unspecified, support of FAO subregional office
(Ankara) and MoFAL, ECFS for resource mobilization

10. Regional Implementation Plan
Implementation plan of action for each Pillar were prepared.
Totally, 5 expected outcomes, 9 outputs and 27 activities were planed for next 5 years period.
30 pages reports were provided by EASP secretariat.

12. İZMİR COMMUNIQUE
Representatives of the EASP developed İzmir
communiqué to share with stakeholders in their
countries and recognizing the vital importance of
SSM as sustainable production system worldwide.
EASP members agreed to the finalization and
approval of a 5 year rolling regional
implementation plan for the EASP
