PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Amgen, Inc. / Unisys / IBM / SMCI 2007 - 2014
IT Business Analyst / Senior Security Engineer
SME and service owner for the global client VPN, business partner VPN, and two factor authentication
services, providing global remote access (GRA) to nearly 30,000 users and over 100 business partners
worldwide. Project managed all service changes, created all corporate protocols, designed disaster recovery
and global failover plans, created supporting documentation, maintained the ITIL and worked closely with
clients solved all service related issues.
Achievements:
• Reviewed, negotiated and revised two contracts between Unisys and Amgen for the support of the RSA
infrastructure and the business partner VPN. Was able to finalize contracts to the mutual beneficial of
all parties using my technical knowledge and understanding of each party's goals.
• Project managed two RSA infrastructure upgrades and data migrations, as well as implementing
software token distribution that saved Amgen $150,000 a years in hard token cost and shipping.
• Redesigned process flows for distributing RSA tokens during two outsource transitions, reducing
shipping costs and eliminating delays by tailoring all processes to the outsourcer's business model.
• Project managed two upgrades of the VPN infrastructure, including the coordination of proof-of-concept
testing, packaging, Alpha and Beta testing of the package and pushing the new VPN client package to
all users globally prior to upgrading the appliances insuring a smooth upgrade which provided greater
service stability and functionality to users worldwide.
• Spearheaded new global WiFi protocol, resolved department conflicts to meet project requirements by
drafting an inter-departmental inclusive project plan bridging client services and the networking
department to cooperatively perform proof of concept testing, network reconfiguration and retrofitting as
well as user acceptance testing. A staged global implementation provided users with a hassle free client
which virtually eliminated WiFi related service calls resulting in significant cost saving for Amgen.
