2. THE NEED FOR THIS PROJECT
In our community, I can observe that people aren’t really mindful
on how they dispose of their garbage. Some people throw their garbage
everywhere though the trash bins are present or in their reach. Some
don’t even know or can’t distinguish biodegradable to non-
biodegradable wastes. And this idea needs to be corrected and taught
to people, especially the students who are and should be models in the
society by having a seminar on Proper Waste Segregation.
3. Goal of the Project
The goal of my project is to make the students
aware that by properly disposing wastes, it can help
lessen/solve the community’s problem, which is
pollution. Hopefully, the students will learn from it
and be an example to everyone.
4. Project Activity
In achieving my goal in this project, I organized a group of
students, specifically my colleagues to take part in this seminar and
invited Engr. Niceforo S. Liberato, our Municipal Agriculturist, to be
the speaker on Proper Waste Segregation to hopefully enlighten the
minds of the students to do what is right and what is best for everyone.
In addition, I provided trash bins for biodegradable and non-
biodegradable wastes and are placed in our school.
5. Step by Step Planning
1. With the permission from our Directress/Principal, I sent a letter
to our Municipal Mayor requesting for Engr. Niceforo Liberato to
be the speaker in the seminar on Proper Waste Disposal. Image
2. I invitingly announced to my colleagues to attend this seminar on
Proper Waste Disposal.
3. Prepared a little “appetizer” to the speaker and the audience.
Which some of the audience, by the way, have come to their
senses not to throw their trash on the floor.
4. In addition with the seminar, I solicited money from my friends
and relatives in helping me raise money buying trash bins. Image
5. With the approval of our Directress/Principal, the trash bins are
now placed in our school. Image
6. Results
After my mini-project, about 50 students are now
aware of the importance of properly disposing/
segregating waste materials. In addition, with the
installment of the trash bins in our school, the
students can now throw their garbage in its designated
trash box.
