1. Our media product, opening sequence to to our
horror/sci-fi film, ‘The Final World’ we have tried
to attract to a certain target audience. We have
really focused our attention to our target audience
because it has some parts that are not suitable
for younger audience. We have aimed to base
our movie on the target audience 15+, this age
allowed us to create less restriction to other age
groups. The opening sequence is focused on
audience between the ages of 15-26.
We have chosen this target audience because it
allowed us to have a higher span on viewers and
less restriction on different age groups, which
would result in more viewers.

attract/address your audience?
2. Sound
Use of sound in our opening sequence was very effective because it
allowed us to mark a moment in the movie by having a lower tone music or
a change of pace in the music in e certain part of the opening sequence.
-Use of music have changed the atmosphere completely, it was very
important to choose the correct music because it created a different feel of
the dark lighting and fast pace of edit, also the music we have chosen
created a particular mood that fitted the setting and characters.
-No dialogue, we have not used any dialogue this has created the opening
sequence more mysterious and disturbing, also create the characters more
close up and have viewers question their actions.
This part

bass drop
which got
the viewers
attention.
3. Attention to Gender
-Close ups of the female characters face, this would create a higher bond
between the character in the film and the viewer.
-Long shots to show the surrounding and what state the character is in also
this allowed to show the posture of the character.
-Allowing the target audience to connect more with the protagonist and to
be in a similar situation.
-Having opposite genre characters to counter the 0
We have had high attention on the gender of the characters this is because
we have made the female character act in a way to emphasize on the
views that women get which are; insecure, easily scared and are easier to
show emotions. We have tried to portray the female character as the more
vulnerable one and the one that is in the center of the action, also being
portrayed as the victim that is being chased by the opposite gender.
4. Attracting the
audience
We have created social media webpages for our
film, This enabled us to advertise and attract
audience from allover the world, and our friends.
Facebook was the main social media page
where we got instant feedback from the viewers
and followers. This made our film more popular
and has gained viewers and interest by the
social media website.
Also we have used YouTube to distribute our
media product, by distributing our media product
to YouTube we have gotten instant interest in
the movie and feedback from the viewers.
The statistics of Facebook in the first 24 hours
of creating the page we have gotten 49 likes
and 2 feed back comments, However on the
other hand with the YouTube video post we
have gotten over 150 views and positive like
coloration which tells us that the viewers
enjoyed the media product we have created.
5. They key moments in our media product that
would attract the audience that we have aimed for.
In this moment the main female character was injected with a
needle. This moment has a lot of tension with in it because
the sharp object has contact with skin and anything could go
wrong. Also we think that the moment could make the
audience more excited and at the same terrified.
6. Second key moment in our media product
The second key moment that we have chosen was when the
main female character fought back after being chased and
harmed. This creates a feeling of satisfactory because
audience see this as an act of strength. This was the moment
that caught the audience attention because it was completely
unexpected with in the situation for the female character to
fight back, also this counters the argument that female are
weak and vulnerable.
