III. Methodologies
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Let us stand. ________, kindly lead the
prayer.
2. Greetings
Good morning, class!
3. Checking of Attendance
Class monitor, is everybody present
today?
4. Review
Learning Task No. 1: “Form the
wheel”
Is everyone here, remember what we
discussed yesterday?
What’s our lesson yesterday?
Very good!
Since you still remember our lesson
yesterday, let’s have an activity to
know if you really remember our past
lesson.
I have here a box that has slice of pie-
liked papers. And those pieces of
papers have different colors. You are
going to identify if that color is
primary, secondary or tertiary. But, to
make this activity more exciting, I’ll
play music while you are passing the
box. When the music stops, the one
who is holding the box will get a piece
of paper and identify it. And lastly,
once you identify whether it is primary,
secondary or tertiary you will post it on
Our father…
Amen.
Good morning, Teacher!
Yes ma’am. Everybody is present today.
Yes!
Our lesson yesterday is about color wheel!
the wheel pattern on its corresponding
spot. Do you understand?
Did you enjoy the game?
B. Motivation
Learning Task No. 2: “Bring Me”
Now, let’s play another game. It is
called “Bring Me”. In this game all of
you are participants. When I say “bring
me a thing with a touch of red, or thing
that is color red” the first one who can
bring what I say will be the winner.
Understand?
Did you all enjoy the game?
C. LessonProper
1. Activity
Learning Task No.3: “Arrange Me”
Before we go to our lesson for today,
Let’s do an activity, it’s called
“Arrange Me”. I prepared 4 envelops
with jigsaw puzzle pieces inside. You
are going to arrange those pieces and
identify what’s on the puzzle. But
before that, I will group you into four.
(The teacher will distribute the boxes)
Yes, we do.
(The pupils will play the game)
Yes, ma’am! We enjoyed the game.
Understand!
(The pupils will play the game)
Yes, ma’am! We enjoyed the game!
(The pupils will arrange the puzzle)
2. Analysis
The reason why we do such things
today is to lighten us up.
Because I’m going to teach Color
Harmony. But before that, please read
the vocabulary words on the board that
we might encounter during our lesson.
Please read all together.
Unlocking of Difficulties
Learning Task No. 4: “Unfamiliar
Words”
Vocabulary Words
1. Hue - one of the main properties of

2. Harmonious - forming a pleasing or

Vocabulary Words
1. Hue - is one of the main properties of

2. Harmonious - forming a pleasing or
consistent whole.
3. Magenta, Cyan and Yellow – replaced
Red, Blue and Yellow in the field of
painting.
4. Saturation – also called colorfulness or
chroma. This is the perceived intensity
of a color expressed as the degree to
which it differs from gray. Olive green,
for example, may have the
same hue and brightness as a bright
green, but it is less saturated.
5. Key color - This is the color in a scene
or piece of art which cannot change. It
is the biggest amount of color in the
scene or what you are trying to
concentrate your public’s attention on
in the picture. Using a color wheel, the
key color determines the rest of the
colors in your color harmony.
6. Point - The smallest typographical unit
of measure.
(The teacher will start teaching the
lesson which is color harmony using
the cartolina on the board and the
pictures from the Learning Task No.3:
“Arrange Me”)
Types of Harmony
There are 4 types of color harmony:
1) Direct Harmony: This is the most
basic harmony. It is a point opposite to
the key color on the wheel. This
“opposite” color is referred to as the
complementary color and thus the
direct harmony can also be called
the complementary harmony.
2) Split Complementary: Rather than
the point opposite the key color on the
wheel, the split complementary takes
the two colors directly on either side of
the complementary color. This allows
for a nicer range of colors while still
not deviating from the basic harmony
between the key color and the
complementary color.

between the key color and the

3) Triadic Harmony: Also
called Triadics or Triads. This refers to
the color two spaces to either side of
the key color’s complement.
Essentially, with the triadic harmony,
you are using three equally distanced
colors on the color wheel.
4) Analogous Harmony: Also referred to
as related colors, these are the colors
directly on the left and right of your
key color. They usually match up quite
well and create a serene and
comfortable design. While this color
harmony can be pleasing to the eye, it
can also come across as monotone. If
you are going for a design that’s
primarily one color, this is a good
choice.
3. Abstraction
Learning Task No. 5: “T-ask
(Teacher will ask)”
Did you understand our lesson?
Let’s see. If you really understand, I
will ask some questions regarding our
lesson today.
“________, Direct harmony can also be
called what?
Very Good!
Another. _________, , it takes the two
colors directly on either side of the
complementary color.
Very Good! How about this one. Also
referred to as related colors, these are
the colors directly on the left and right
of your key color.
3) Triadic Harmony: Also

the color two spaces to either side of

Yes ma’am, we understand our lesson.
Direct harmony can also be called
the complementary harmony.
Split complementary!
It’s Analogous Harmony, ma’am!
Yes. That’s correct. Very good.
For the last question _________. What
is the opposite color of yellow on the
color wheel?
Good Job, Class. I’m Glad that you
truly understand our lesson today.
4. Application
Learning Task No. 6: “Wish Wish
Wish”
At this point, we are going to do
another activity. It is called “Wish
Wish Wish”. Since it’s October and
Christmas is near, you are going to
draw things that you want to receive
this coming Christmas. Then you will
color it using colors that can be found
on color wheel. After that, identify
what type of color harmony is that. I’ll
group you into four. Stay on your group
mates. Understand?
(the teacher will distribute the things
that are needed in the said activity)
The opposite color of yellow on the color
wheel is violet.
Understand!
(The pupils will do the activity.)
IV. Assessment
The class will have a quiz about 4 types of color harmony.
V. Assignment
The class will answer the question “What does your favorite color tell about your
personality?”

Key color - This is the color in a scene or piece of art which cannot change. It is the biggest amount of color in the scene or what you are trying to concentrate your public’s attention on in the picture. Using a color wheel, the key color determines the rest of the colors in your color harmony. 6. Point - The smallest typographical unit of measure. Essentially, with the triadic harmony, you are using three equally distanced colors on the color wheel. 4) Analogous Harmony: Also referred to as related colors, these are the colors directly on the left and right of your key color.
