2. In my surveys I collected data of people’s ages and
genders, and general interests concerning the features in
music magazines. This survey will be my guide as to what
to use in my own music magazine.
3. The majority of people who responded to
my survey were aged 17 or younger, with 5
or 6 extending in to their 20s and 30s.
This means that the language used in my
magazine, along with pictures, content etc
will be based around their ages and how
they appeal to them.
4. The majority of people here who took
the survey, 91% of people were
female, and 9% of people were male or
non-conforming. This means my
magazine will not be stereotypically
aimed at any gender. The magazine is
going to be very neutral and follow the
expectations of anyone.
5. The majority of votes would prefer to read
something influenced by Kerrang,
RockSound, and other magazines based
around rock/metal etc. Other magazines
such as NME and Q magazine cover a
wider variety of genres and bands and
artists, so they will have a smaller content
in comparison to the heavier sound of
music.
6. In my magazine, I am going to feature Panic! At The Disco as the front cover. And My
Chemical Romance as the DPS, as this was what was demanded by the people who
took my survey (And it is what is easier for me to do).
7. The majority of people preferred magazine
editions that included posters, so because
of this I am going to use the results from
the question before which found out which
bands were preferred in the contents of a
magazine.
8. This question, along with questions before,
have shown to have similar responses.
Because of this, ill be using Panic! At The
Disco, Twenty One Pilots and Fall Out Boy
in my edition of a magazine.
9. The majority of people voted to
hear of Interviews, or band/artist
updates. This means that some of
my content will be highly based
around these.
10. The majority of people here said that
they would not be put off if a magazine
included a small gift for an overall
higher price. This will be difficult to
place in to my work but it helps with my
overall magazine research
11. For the front cover of my magazine, I
will be using a band for the main
subject on the cover, along with
pictures around the sides with lists of
featured bands and artists (as that was
the second most requested features on
the front cover)…
12. The majority of people in this question
answered that they either wouldn’t read
about smaller, unknown bands, or they
don’t think they are important for them to
find interesting. Because of this, I will not
be designing my magazine to feature this.
