3. What is an assertion?
An assertion is a statement used to make a
declaration to express strong belief on a
particular topic after a thorough assessment of all
the facts mentioned.

4. Examples of Assertion
Dogs are man’s best friend.
Don’t expose dogs to firecrackers as their
hearing is far more sensitive than humans.

5. Make an assertion that states your
opinion
∙Examine Facts vs. Opinion
∙Formulate inferences and conclusion

6. Facts
Are assertions that is true and evidence based.
1.Facts can be proven through research.
2.Facts are irrefutable due to them being
evidence based.
3.Generally accepted and easily replicable.

7. Opinion
Are assertions that are based on a personal
preference.
1.Opinions can’t be proven and are usually
incorporated with emotions.
2.Opinions are irrefutable due to them being
generally having no evidence.
3.Opinion are only true to the persons who has the
opinion.

8. Examples of Assertion
