2. Introduction
This presentation is going to talk about some strategies that can help to develop
your skills, such as: reading, writing, speaking and listening; with the aim that
classmates enhance their skills through this presentation.
At the end of the course, the student should approve and get two B2 in some
BULATS (Reading, Writing or Speaking).
3. Reading
● You should use the skimming -> It is a
reading technique that is used to find a
general idea of the text.
● Read information in English.
● Learn from context.
● Search in a dictionary for words you do not
understand.
● Read books you are interested in.
4. Listening
● Listen for answers: Before you start, read the questions really careful to
identify the main topic which will help to keep your mind alert and active.
● Take notes: It might help you to connect ideas so when the audio has
finished, you can check if your answer makes sense with your notes. For
example: Put only capital letters for names and what are the main ideas
or interest for that person.
● Continue: If you don’t know an answer, skip it and put a mark on it so
later you can rethink the question/answer instead of getting lost on the
next ones.
● After-Listening: Check your answers again with the listening, they should
make sense or be related to the conversation. This should help you
reviewing info that you might not get earlier.
5. Speaking
The voice can reveal as much about a person. Effective
business communication skills are vital to successful co-
worker And customers interaction. To develop this skills is
necessary to be careful attention in:
● Voice production: Clarity, volume, pauses, pitch.
● Accents: the stress of words.
● Vocabulary: pronounce correctly
● The effect of breath on voice and speech
● Finding your voice: Style and flow
6. Writing
● Read the instructions carefully, underlining key
information in the instructions: Is it a letter or
report?
● Include all the point of the instructions.
● You must know the business vocabulary.
● You must know the grammar of the language.
● You should use the topic about business.
● Use linking words and phrases to connect your
ideas (eg. however or on the other hand)
● Check your answer for mistakes.
