2. ABSTRACT
Increase in heavy growth of construction work, machines, transportation
system,engines,aircraft has created noise pollution.
Traditionally, noise is controlled by using expensive,non-biodegradable
sound absorbing material such as wool, polymer foams&fabric
filler&polymer fiber.
But,these matrial cause harmful to environment, releases carbon dioxide
leads to global warming.
In our project we concern with maximum utilization of agro waste such as
rice straw &bamboo to develop noise absorbing composite.
3. INTRODUCTION
Noise is generally unwanted sound caused in outside world due to
various reasons.
Noise pollution has become the 3rd pollution sources. It has adverse
influences on environment,human health &economy.
At present, the focus is to develop a cheap,renewable&bio-degradable
sound profing material from agro waste, which is non-
abrasive,porous,good insulation,hygroscopic&combustive material for
automobile,home appliances &architecture applications.
4. SCOPE OF PROJECT
Most of the developing countries are very rich in agriculture and
natural fibres.
In India, grain &other seeds are main objective of the forming
activity.India alone produces more than 400 million tons of agricultural
waste annually.
The sound absorption material can be applies to the ceiling, floor &
walls to remove much reflected sound as possible.
5. REQUIREMENTS OF A GOOD
SOUND ABSORBENT:
It should be
Durable
Vermin-proof
Efficient over wide range of frequencies,
Fire resistant,
Non-hygroscopic and heat insulating,

8. RICE STRAW
Rice straw is collected from local forming operation and
crushed with human mill into different particle sites of 10-
40mm.
After this screening is done to eliminate the fine particles and
dust from the straw’s.
Glues is added for the quality to straw.
After fitting the first layer, compaction is done ,remove steel
mold and 1st pressing is done by hydraulic press.
After the primary press, samples are placed between the
heated plate of hot press, heated at temperature of 1800 c.
Adjust the edges with knife.
10. BAMBOO
Bamboo particle bond have been developed in Canada,China,India and
Vietnam.
The obtained bamboo chips particles are dried mixed with
resin, preformed &hot-pressed in the form of panels.
In general urea formal dehyde &phenol formal dehyde during the
manufacturing&drying process releases toxic material.So,castor- oil-
based poly methane &citric acid and resins are added so that they have
low toxicity.
In rigid-formed porous material, the sound energy is absorbed through
the air cavities &convert it in to thermal energy.
bamboo-panel has similar sound absorption characteristics to glass
wool.
The degree to which this surface afffects the absorption of sound is
known as absorption coefficient.

14. SUGARCANE
Sugarcane is commonly found in equatorial countries such as
India,Pakistan,Malaysia &Indonesia &tropical countries such
as Brazil.
On average 1 hectare of sugarcane generates,10 tons of
waste.Apart of waste is utilized for energy production
&another part is burned outside to clean the field.
In an study ,sugarcane waste is used for noise absorbing and
in this procedure,we are collecting sugarcane bagasse
waste,cutting is done,sequencing is done &adding some
polymethane resin to this, compaction is done.
15. SUGARCANE
There are widely used techniques to study the thermal
behaviur of natural sugarcane baggase composites.i.e,
i. Thermo Gravity Analysis(TGA)
ii. Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC)
Thermo Gravity Analysis(TGA) is used to evaluate
both thermal stability as well as % of the fiber’s used in
composite.
Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC) is used to
evaluate evaporation of water and moisture below
1000c.
17. WHY NOISE ABSORBING MATERIALS
The function of insulation is to minimize the radiation
and covection heat transfer with minimum solid
conduction.so that our home stays warmer in cool
weather and colder in warm weather.
Heating and cooling accounts 50-70% of energy used
in average .home.
It maintain uniform temperature, overall comfort and
saves money.
18. BENEFITS OF SOUND ABSORBING MATERIALS
Long term performance ,durability &eco-friendly.
Reduces sound resonance and echoes.
Increased privacy and confidentiality.
Ti provides healthy and comfortable environments.
Light weight material.
Works for permanent (or) temporary installation.
19. DIS ADVANTAGES
None can hear you,if you are in trouble.
Cannot with hold fire.
Sound proofing (or) improving the acoustics of a room
isn’t effective ,if the foam tiles are placed incorrectly.
20. CONCLUSION
Bamboo fibre is a regenerated cellulostic fibre produced
from bamboo. It is softer than cotton ,with a texture
similar to a blend of cashmere and silk.
Because the cross section of the fibre is filled with
various micro gaps and micro holes,it has much better
moisture absorption and ventilation.
Thus gives best results then those two with in a same
cost.
Product of bamboo fibre is eco-friendly and bio
degradable.It is a anti-bacterial property.
