7. Big Bang
It came with the BIG BANG , most scientist believe that the universe
was born out of a huge explosion called the BIG BANG many , many
years ago. At the time of the BIG BANG , things in the universe were
hot and tightly packed . After the explosion , all the things began to
cool down and grow bigger. This is how the UNIVERSE was born. The
stars and other heavenly bodies such as planet EARTH was formed.
10. • Stars are a big ball of fire that gives us heat and light.
• The Sun is one of the stars.
• Many stars are bigger than the sun, but appears
very small , as they are very far away from the
earth.
• Group of stars make patterns in the sky. These patterns are
called CONSTELLATION .
• Stars appear to twinkle because of the movement of air in
the atmosphere of the Earth.

14. MOON OR SATELLITE
• A satellites is an object that moves around the Planet.
• The MOON is the only natural satellite of the EARTH.
• Like the Sun , we can clearly see that MOON in the sky.
• It has no light of its own. Like, planets , the MOON reflects the
light of the Sun .
• MOON surface is not FLAT but have mountains and valleys.
15. MOON
Close to EARTH
Only natural satellite of the EARTH
Revolves around the
PLANETS
Reflects light of the SUN
No light of its own
Surface is not flat but has
mountains & valley
Full moon / half moon
16. • Sun is a star.
• Suns light takes 8 minutes to reach the EARTH.
• Sun keeps our planets warm.
• Sun is the natural sources of light and heat .
• Sun is also known as a SOL.
• Sun looks much bigger than other stars in the sky because it is closer
to the EARTH than any other stars.
• Sun rises from the east and sets in the west.

Planets move around the SUN
Sunlight takes 8 minute to
reach EARTH
It is apx. 4.5 billiion years old
It is in the CENTRE of the solar
system
18. Let's Practice
• What do we see in the day sky ?
• What do we see in the night sky ?
• What do we get from the Sun ?
• When do we can see the moon and the stars in the sky ?
