Fundacion Paralife
ParaLife Foundation is a non-profit civil association with no
affiliation of party, race or religion. It was established on
November 15, 2006 at the initiative of the partners of

that exists in the employment of persons with disabilities in
Mexico. Its headquarters are in Mexico City and its scope of
action covers both Mexico City and the metropolitan area.

The Goal:
Can “gamified” software accurately evaluate the cognitive and motoric
abilities of an impaired person in a short period of time?
Need to induct a larger portion of people with disabilities into the everyday
workforce
There is no real Assessment and/or Assistive systems in an efficient way to
integrate these persons into society quickly and effectively.

The Gamified Solution
Create a Set of tests developed to assess people with various disabilities in
order to suggest occupational fields where they would possibly be most
successful in and create a kind of Certification based on their skills using
Gamified Systems.
Identify at early stages the people with severe cognitive disabilities and also
identify participants without severe disabilities who can be participate in the
Working Environments and be productive in those areas where they can
contribute (and be Happy by the end of the day!!!)
The Gamified system should tests and assesses the participants ability to
understand, learn and do both simple and complex tasks.
Maybe we can develop Motoric and Cognitive Assessment Game
The full idea is to allow people with disabilities to be autonomous.

Delineate Target Behaviours
I see four main behaviors around the system to encourage people to
participate in the certification process:
Players signing up for an account using a Touch-based device on a Web Site
with the promise that they will have benefits Sharing his/her PLB to the
community and also with Companies who has Social or Inclusion Programs.
Gamers should be able to posting their skills and occupational fields where
they can be viewed by HR Hiring Managers
Gamers can rate other player’s skills and occupational fields and get points
(some of them based on Social co-operation)
Gamers can share positive experiences with other Internet services like
Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook and pin relevant goals or activities onto each
social network to show their community how they contribute to the GDP,
social benefits or sustainability.

Describe the Players
This system will have 2 types of players but all of them more than 18 years
old as the minimum age to get a paid job position:
Players who want to hire high skilled people (e.g. HR Hiring managers) but
with some disabilities to include them into their social programs and/or open
positions according to the profile description (explorers)
Players who want to offer their services via Web Portal with cognitive and
suggested occupational fields profile (achievers)
HR Hiring people players will initially use This Certified People Web Portal
because they want to increase their % of inclusion and get government
benefits (In Mexico there are some Tax benefits around hiring people with
disabilities) and they will be motivated to get that goal by sharing their
company open positions with other players.

Conclusion
I truly believe that this system can be “gamified” using software accurately to
evaluate the cognitive and motoric abilities of an people with some
disabilities in a short period of time.
This “Certified System” should encourage companies to hire more impaired
people knowing that this has been evaluated and measured his/her skills and
their level of occupational fields.
This also will have collateral benefits since the companies will be more
knowledgeable around disabilities condition and will create an inclusion
environment within their companies.
Last but not least….This people can have the opportunity to contribute with
their work to the family economy and satisfied some basic Maslow hierarchy
of needs.
