My love of art and architecture was inspired by my surroundings as a teen living in
Europe. Beautiful memories that touched me deeply. As the experience unfolded it
lead me to interior design, the focus of my education and my career. Beauty and the
observation of beauty, it was a transforming connection that continues to inspire me.
Over time I have had the opportunity to work on a number of wonderful design
projects for companies such as The Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle, Amazon.com
South Lake Union campus, Starbucks headquarters, and Harborview medical tower.
A comprehensive project list along with a few sample details are included in this
summary.
With design projects, we are part of a bigger team and the teams with whom I've had
the opportunity to work have included both inspirational individuals and companies. I
am grateful for having had the good fortune to collaborate with these talented
professionals and to contribute in varying roles.
Thank you, for your interest and I hope we have the opportunity to work together.
Warmly,
Desiree

The Seattle Four Seasons Hotel is a mixed-use project of hotel, retail and private condominiums. As NBBJ project manager of the penthouse condo, Desiree reported to the
NBBJ Studio Principal who directed the Four Season’s project. She integrated the work of the penthouse owner’s team of consultants with the NBBJ architectural and
design team through eighteen months of feasibility study. The thirty-three thousand square feet of the penthouse occupied the top three floors of the twenty-two story
building. The complex program of the penthouse owner required diligent integration with the base building allowing the penthouse floors to morph yet retain the overall
design integrity of the building mass. Key coordination issues included but were not limited to security, mechanical, structural, and design. Desiree lead the coordination of
the building owner’s representative; the penthouse owner’s representative; penthouse and NBBJ architects; owner’s and building security consultants; exterior maintenance
consultants; structural engineers; and various specialty contractors. Desiree’s responsibilities included penthouse team alignment of task and schedule in meeting the
building’s permit and construction deadlines. Upon completion of the feasibility study she joined the base building team in research and development of special design
features such as the restaurant wine display, lounge details and lobby fireplace.
