Identify and implement strategic initiatives with clients, strategic planning, completing feasibility studies, building
business cases, new business development, and identifying trends. Also responsible for creating innovative solutions,
product designs, training distributors and producers, mergers, and acquisition projects and the creation of value
propositions for key clients in the financial services industry including LIMRA, Prudential, MetLife, Axa, Assurity, Mass
Mutual, and Swiss Re.
CONTRIBUTIONS & PROCESS DEVELOPMENT:
Led project team inclusive of actuaries and a financial team to develop and launch a new worksite UL product for a
major US life insurer.
Created a strategic plan, which included criteria for market entry in particular countries, for a US based company to
enter Latin America, which included Greenfield as a joint venture and/or acquisition.
Worked to develop and implement a voluntary employee benefits distribution strategy with a multi-national insurer
in Hong Kong, and currently working with several clients on launching an integrated e-Commerce multi-channel
distribution initiative.
Assisted the senior management team of a US based multi-national insurer with the planning and launch of a
strategic business initiative in China. The project included strategy planning, feasibility studies, market research,
product design, and the creation and delivery of sales processes and training programs.
MetLife New York, NY 1987-2008
DIRECTOR, DISTRIBUTION DEVELOPMENT, INTERNATIONAL LINE OF BUSINESS (2000-2009)
Provided distribution support and development for all international affiliates. Key functions included liaison
between US and overseas affiliate operations, strategic and operational planning, market research and analysis.
Other duties included product positioning, distribution deployment, training distributors and producers, analyzing
results, and leveraging best practices from the US and across affiliate operations.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Led individual distribution channels (Wholesale & Retail) in Latin America from FY 2002-2004, which resulted in
increase of new business results by 28%, 16%, and 18% over the previous year respectively.
Designed and implemented a new Agency strategy for Brazil utilizing both Wholesale and Retail distribution.
Improved results for Agent retention and simultaneously reduced expenses by $50 million per year by implementing a
long term deferred compensation plan for the South Korea Retail Agency business.
Coordinated the implementation of “Volatile Markets” program, which was to maintain market share during a period
of market decline. The project target was to identify market triggers and appropriate responses to a significant
market turndown. With a roll out in October 2008 in response to economic crisis, the result was no significant loss of
market share from targeted markets.
Steered the Business Due Diligence team for a major acquisition in Mexico, which resulted as the most profitable
international operation.
