Edit Existing vs. New Report
• There isn’t a report that does what you
want
• You wish to change the boundaries on a
report
– For example “C Drives less than 2G free”
– Wish to change it to “C drives less than 5G
free”
• Duplicate – try to keep the original
reports!

How do they work?
• Notify on specific hardware or software changes in your environment
• Notify on specific changes to Assets
• Similar to Smart Labels you have a list of options to select from.
– Just like with Smart labels this generates a SQL query that runs against the machine during inventory
• Email alerts can be set to deliver every 15 minutes, as well as daily, weekly and monthly
– Set the schedule to run as often as necessary to keep up with your reporting needs (Note: only set to run
as often as necessary.)

What Can you monitor using Email Alerts?
• Email Alerts can be used to notify you of a wide range of computer and
network changes
– Low HD space
– computers not inventoried for X Days
– machines missing anti-virus software
– Machines with P2P or torrent software
– Machines not on latest OS Service Pack
– Report of Machines with specific, expensive, software
– Can use custom inventory rules to look for specific information then search for
the newly created software title
– And many more…

Editor's Notes
Anything in the database can be reported
K1 runs a mysql database, mention ORGs; ORG1 ORG2 etc..
Can be accessed via reporting wizard or external tools such as Toad, Workbench, flyspeed etc…
Can also do proactive notifications
Add Screenshot
Can use existing reports or edit them.
Reports are currently entered in mysql manually but are actively being converted to wizard. This will allow you to use the wizard to edit existing reports in the future instead of having to manually edit the sql statement.
Wizard uses Kace wizard to create reports.
SQL gives you a box to enter you SQL statement into.

Name and Category makes it easier to find/search for later
Description: Your longterm memory
Topic: Selecting table in the database where your data resides
Make it useful or make it pretty
Can you edit an existing report to suit your needs?
In 6.0 duplicate the report then you can edit the SQL to your needs. Original report is not editable.
Scheduling reports to be emailed on a recurring basis.
Discuss example reports that would be scheduled to run on a recurring basis
Email alerts can be emailed to your service desk to create a ticket for the issue to be logged and resolved
Build a Notification that emails you a list of machines that were imaged (or re-imaged) between 2 weeks and 1 month ago. It’s time to follow-up with the user and iron out any issues. Plus, you can probably delete their captured USMT profile, if they haven’t complained yet
Note to trainer: obviously the time-period may need to be adjusted here, to utilize whatever machines we have in Inventory.
