To
Whom
It
May
Concern:
It
is
with
pleasure
that
I
highly
recommend
Dawn
Jones
for
a
teaching
position.
Mrs.
Jones
has
been
teaching
at
McNeil
Elementary
School
for
the
past
2
years.
Currently
she
teaches
third
grade
in
a
self-‐contained
classroom.
A
favorite
quote
of
Dawn
Jones
is
one
that
Christa
McAuliffe
spoke,
“I
touch
the
future,
I
teach.”
Dawn
does
not
see
her
profession
as
a
job.
She
looks
at
each
day
as
an
opportunity
to
build
knowledge,
inspire
and
encourage
every
child.
She
sees
the
uniqueness
of
the
students
in
her
classroom
and
she
continually
seeks
to
find
ways
to
help
them
learn
in
an
engaging
manner.
With
the
varied
experiences
of
teaching
students
from
third
grade
to
eighth
grade,
she
understands
the
importance
of
each
academic
year
in
school
to
prepare
her
students
for
their
future
and
always
inspires
her
students
to
do
their
very
best.
Dawn
works
collaboratively
with
her
team
and
with
other
campus
staff.
While
at
McNeil,
she
participated
on
a
committee
to
establish
a
new
campus
discipline
plan.
Dawn’s
excellent
classroom
management
skills
in
her
own
classroom
show
care
and
patience
with
students
while
holding
them
accountable
for
their
own
behavior.
Her
ideas
were
embedded
into
the
campus
discipline
management
plan
so
that
all
students
at
McNeil
could
be
successful,
as
they
felt
empowered
to
make
positive
changes.
Creative
ways
to
help
students
comprehend
difficult
concepts
and
skills
are
always
explored.
Collegial
conversations
are
held
during
grade
level
planning
sessions
to
refine
lessons
to
meet
student
needs
and
interests.
There
are
high
expectations
for
students
to
think
at
a
critical
level
and
focused
on
the
learning.
Careful
data
analysis
provides
an
understanding
of
what
students
know
and
are
able
to
do.
Plans
for
intervention,
differentiation
and
future
lessons
are
developed
only
after
consideration
of
the
current
data.
I
highly
recommend
Dawn
Jones
for
any
open
teaching
positions
in
your
district.
You
will
not
be
disappointed
by
her
professionalism
and
her
creative
ways
of
encouraging
students
with
high-‐level
learning.
Sincerely,
Deborah
Kanar
Principal
