To Whom It May Concern,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Danielle Kehoe who is seeking an early
childhood position in your district. As her college supervisor, I had the opportunity to
formally observe and evaluate Danielle’s teaching on five separate occasions as she
taught two sets of heterogeneously grouped of kindergarten students at J. Fithian Tatem
Elementary School in Haddonfield, NJ.
Danielle took the initiative from the moment she found out her placement with student
teaching. From the day Danielle found out her placement she was ready to hit the ground
running and start teaching. She substitute taught for her cooperating teacher on several
different occasions prior to student teaching which gave her a unique opportunity to see
how the classroom was run, and to get to know the curriculum that they were using.
Danielle has shown confidence in her teaching, and was ready to start teaching the class
from the very first day of school. This was the first year that the kindergarten classes used
Lucy Caulkin’s writing workshop in their classroom. Danielle took it upon herself to
launch writing workshop in the classroom and continued to teach it through her student
teaching experience. The Kindergarten classroom received a working smart board for the
first time. Ms. Kehoe took the initiative and created a Handwriting Without Tears Smart
Board program that will be used in both kindergarten classrooms. She also took the time
to train her cooperating teacher and her grade-level partner on the smart board.
Miss Kehoe consistently exhibited a positive and enthusiastic attitude when she worked
with the students. Danielle worked one-on-one with individual students, carefully
monitored students with IEPs, and taught small group and whole group lessons with
success and ease. It is clear that after observing her she created a very positive learning
environment where all students felt like their work mattered.
I believe that Danielle Kehoe will be a highly effective teacher and a positive addition to
any teaching staff. She maintained a positive rapport with her students, colleagues, and
parents. Danielle recognized and valued the individual differences of each of her students
and communicated with colleagues daily to enhance learning for all of her students.
Accordingly, and without reservation, it is my pleasure to recommend Danielle Kehoe.
If I can be of any further assistance with regard to Ms. Kehoe’s qualifications, please do
not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
John. J Quinesso, Jr., MAT
