Reflective Activity 3(Page: 66)
Based on your experience as a university instructor, write down some advantages of using
instructional media in your classrooms.
 Media can be used in almost any discipline to enhance learning, both in class, and also for out-
of-class assignments.
 Instructional media encompasses all the materials and physical means an instructor and teacher
might use to implement instruction and facilitate learners’ achievement of instructional
objectives.
 This may include traditional materials such as chalkboards, handouts, charts, slides, overheads,
real objects, flash cards, and videotape or film, as well newer materials and methods such as
computers, DVDs, CD-ROMs, the internet, and interactive video conferencing.
The Advantages of Using Instructional media in class room
There are some advantages of using instructional media in a classroom teaching (learning process)
such as:
 To increase the learners’ motivation.
 To avoid the learners bored.
 To make the learners easy to understand the subject material
 To make the teaching learning process more systematic.
 Encouraging the teachers and the learners in delivering the subject materials,
 Facilitating the learners in learning activities
 Enables students to see concepts and new examples
 Help Students can have experience worlds beyond their own.
 Enable students to enhance their analytical skills on case of conducted using theories and
concepts.

Reflective Activity 4 (Page: 66)
1. How do you define time management?
 Time Management refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is allocated to
the right activity.
 Effective time management allows individuals to assign specific time slots to activities as
per their importance.
 Time Management refers to making the best use of time as time is always limited.
Time Management plays a very important role not only in organizations but also in our personal
lives. Time Management includes:
 Effective Planning
 Setting goals and objectives
 Setting deadlines
 Delegation of responsibilities
 Prioritizing activities as per their importance
 Spending the right time on the right activity
2. How effective are you in managing your time?
The ability to manage your time effectively is important. Good time management leads to
improved efficiency and productivity, less stress, and more success in life. The effective ways to
manage your time includes:
 Set goals correctly
 Prioritize quickly
 Set a time limit
 Take breaks between tasks
 Organize your self
 Remove non-essential tasks
 Plan ahead
3. Do you manage time or does time manage you?
I tried to manage time effectively by plan and preparing schedule on right time with right task or
activities but time management is failed in some cases. Therefore, on my intuition time
management is depend on the conditions exist. For example, for in the presence unexpected
activity or tasks, time schedule that prepare for right activity or tasks will be postponed for another
time.
4
4. How effective/ punctual are you in using instructional time and appointment with
your students or other clients?
Instructional time: The time teachers are actively teaching. Once your pacing plan is in place, you
can think about how to use the instructional blocks of time allocated in the daily schedule. You
can choose from several different instructional methodologies and can structure the time within an
instructional block. As an instructor must be effective in using instructional time and appointment
with your students or other clients on the use of time and choice of instructional strategies that are
based on the scheduled time for the learning experience based on the following tasks preparing
and distributing materials, introducing the lesson, delivering the instruction, assigning work and
finally closing the lesson. Generally, in my view agree with the idea of “Time lost is never found”
rings especially true in the classroom.
ReflectiveActivity5
1. Comment on the items in the time matrix.
 As to me, proper time management is essential for boosting personal productivity and
company success.
 Time Management Matrix is an excellent approach for directing ones attention to the things
most important the company and personal development.
2. How does the Time Management Matrix relate to your experience as a teacher?
 Working as a teacher requires excellent time management skills. Teachers need to balance
the long-term goals of the classroom, the immediate educational needs of the students and
the large volume of paperwork that comes with every assignment. Between writing lesson
plans, grading exams and actually teaching, teachers often feel that it is impossible to fit
everything into the allotted time frame.
 Teacher’s time management must start with setting priorities and organizing the day around
the most important tasks. Setting priorities can help keep teachers on track throughout the
day, even when the unexpected occurs and the workload can seem overwhelming.
3. How much time do you spend on planning and preparation for your teaching?
5
 Planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time is sacred. No one wants to fritter it away.
All teachers are entitled to spend a minimum of 10% of their teaching time reflecting on
what has worked well in the classroom – and planning what to do next.
 When many of us consider the role teacher’s play, we immediately think of the classroom.
When in reality teachers know the classroom is just the tip of the iceberg of their duties
and much of their role is outside of these hours.
 What many of us don’t realize however, is the vast amount of work and time that teachers
must put into preparing for the classroom. In fact, according to the OECD, over the course
of one calendar week, the average teacher will have spent about 7 hours out of their 38-
hour week just planning lessons.
 Much of this time is spent planning individually or coordinating lessons with colleagues
across the faculty, especially when the same subject is delivered by multiple teachers.
Reflective Activity 6—P74
1. List the three important things you have learnt about managing your time and
reflect on them in relation to your personal practice.
 Learn to say no:-it is very important to say no for irrelevant things
 Creating a plan for each task:- plan is basic tool to control your activity
 Eliminate your time wasters: - to be effective in your plan you have to eliminate
or minimize the time wasters.
2. How do you plan to improve your time management and be productive in your
activities?
 The first technique is prioritizing the tasks
 Evaluate my schedule at the end of the plan
 By using the reminder tools like alarm in the calendar
