Dave joined Hollingsworth – Ellery in 2014 at an exciting
time for the business.His brief, to help drive the business
forward by enhancingits capability and capacity to deliver
to existingand new customers and sectors.
His previous role had been that of Regional
Preconstruction Manager for Kier Construction’s Northern
business. During his three years in this role he had
implemented significant changes in the approach to
biddingand had developed the bidding team’s capabilities
to respond to the business plan objectives. On leavingthis
role Dave and his team had won contracts to a value
equivalent to three years turnover for the region. He had
originally joined the company as Area Manager,
successfully launching and developing a new regional
business covering North Wales across to Cheshire and
North Staffordshire.
During his early career he progressed from Trainee
Estimator to Site Engineer and Site Manager. His initial
experience was extremely varied covering residential
schemes to hardened aircraftshelters and sea walls. This
gave him a very solid groundingin both buildingand heavy
civil engineeringtechniques.
Following further progression he moved into the position
of Construction Manager from where he was promoted to
Regional Director for Merseyside and North Wales.In this
rolehe was responsiblefor the overall management of the
business unit and ultimately its profitability. During this
period he had special responsibility for developing the
company’s Design & Build capability and he had a key role
in gaining ISO 9001 accreditation for the North West
Region.
As well as technical proficiency and a significantand
varied experience, Dave’s approach to people leads to
them givingof their best. His customer focus is key in the
buildingof longterm sustainablerelationships.
