Leading a team of 14 to ensure that every stage of contact with our potential and
existing client base was managed with total professionalism - effectively being
‘the face’ of The London Studios (ITV) from initial contact until final sign-off. The
London Studios client base is made up mainly of ITV in-house productions, but
also included external third party productionsproducers as outlined below. ITV
in-house productions had the opportunity to conduct their post production
externally, thus we had to be better than our competitors if we were to secure
and retain this business. I built and maintained strong productive relationships
and trust with a diversity of production executives, executive producers,
producers and directors, which enabled my team to help each client achieve what
they aimed for, within the inevitable constraints of operating from facilities which
now require considerable technical investment. During 2013/2014 we delivered a
profit margin of 16% on a turnover of £10.3M. We achieved this by having an in-
depth understanding of, and genuine interest in, our clients’ needs, and my ability
to manage each client’s expectations. In my role as Head of Client Services, I
was able to fully develop and apply a range of people and project management
skills, providing motivation and leadership to a diverse team.

During this period, I built an excellent reputation as a post producer, becoming
sought after by a diversity of individual producers, who saw me as someone who
would help them to deliver their vision...often saying ’Joy will sort it’... Working
with many shows and numerous high profile entertainment specials, which often
required a very fast turnaround, for clients who included ITV Studios, RDF,
Magnum Media and Olga TV, I developed a reputation amongst my clients for
acting as if I was ‘a key member of their team’ whilst always ensuring that the
interests of The London Studios were satisfied. This ‘win-win’ approach resulted in
regular repeat business, often against considerable competition. I have gained
invaluable experience at ITV, during a period of almost continuous change.
