1. 150 SVS is situated in the heart of
the business district of Glasgow.
The client had a requirement to
create an office space to
accommodate 109 staff and to
also include for the two sides of the
Business, Insurance and Finance.
Datum’s scope of works was to
divide the open office space into
three areas, the third being a
directors suite, with each division
being self sufficient.
This also included the creation of
meeting rooms, manager’s office
and a breakout area to include a

Located in the iconic building that
used to be Rentokil Initial, Footman
James, the Classic Motor Vehicle
Insurers moved from Cradley
Heath to their new home in Dudley
during the Christmas Break.
Datum’s remit was to create a
space that was unlike the usual call
centre environment.
Following numerous design
meetings, it was agreed meeting
rooms, offices, kitchens and open
office areas had to include for
feature walls and manifestation
logos on glazing to make this
project work.
The raised access floors in the
ground floor open office areas were
strengthened to allow for classic
motorcycles and cars to be
displayed.
Externally, the barrier entrance to
the carpark was totally refurbished
to allow staff automatic entrance
and visitors via an intercom.
The project was completed over a two
month period which resulted in the
client’s desired finish, on time and on
budget for their flagship office.

Located in the heart of the
Business District of Manchester, 1
Portland Street is situated adjacent
to the central tram station.
Our brief was to relocate Fusion
Ltd from the north to the south of
Manchester and to include in the
floor plate a meeting room,
breakout area, the Managing
Director’s office and an open plan
office to accommodate 20 people.
One of the main constraints of the
project was the construction of the
building as it had internal columns
in the office that were at unequal
distances apart to allow the
perimeter walls of the building to
be fully glazed.
Thus creative space planning was
a key element.
