Dear Hiring Professional,
Compassion, skills, honesty, and faith are some of the words that come to mind when I
reflect on working with Dave Ricker. I had the privilege to work with Dave for approximately
five years as his Supervisor at Huntington Learning Center in Simsbury, CT. Dave maintained a
consistent dedication and reliability throughout his tenure with the learning center; in fact, I
would go so far as to say that Dave was part of the foundation of the institution, and a large part
of our success. Dave was one of the first staff members hired and was instrumental in opening
the Center and demonstrated great flexibility in enduring many growing pains.
As I worked with Dave over the years, it was with great admiration, that I observed him
connecting with student after student. He had the unique ability to touch the lives of students,
particularly Middle School and High School students, unlocking their potential and capacity for
learning. Not only was he able to work with all levels of students from those challenged to
gifted, he also shared that same talent for connecting with staff. Dave demonstrated high level
skills, yet remained humble and approachable by all. One of the unique assets Dave brought to
the environment was his unique background of both education and business. Particularly in
today's economy, this was a huge benefit- he understood the need to impart quality work within a
tight budget.
One of the qualities that stand out the most to me when I reflect on my work with Dave is
his enthusiasm for learning and changing lives. It is this passion that is contagious and motivates
those around him. Clearly Dave has a strong foundation of faith that guides him with patience,
care, and unending strength toward giving of himself toward the betterment of others.
It is without reservation that I recommend Dave Ricker to your company. If I can be of
any further assistance in providing information, please do not hesitate to call: (860) 309-1013.
Sincerely,
Michelle Voegtle, M.Ed., LPC
