Manager - Middle East - Responsible for high density polyethylene (HDPE) liner service for steel pipelines to the
regions probable clients, instigating and maintaining of client contacts, submission of bids, competition monitoring,
organizing logistics, managing, etc. Duties also included follow up as needed elsewhere.
• Introduced and sold HDPE service to client’s upper management in Saudi Arabia under extremely adverse economic
conditions two initial High Density Polyethylene Liner installation projects.
• Convinced Omani client to switch an 18 km pipeline project from another type of internal protection to High Density
Polyethylene.

• Identified risks and created programs in Ex-USSR and Abu Dhabi under extremely adverse conditions, resulting in
35% overall reduction of Health and Safety risks in under two months.
• Organized military relations and safe working conditions around very intense live tank artillery firing of United Arab
Emirates’ military training activities with no incidents.
SCHLUMBERGER WIRELINE AND TESTING
Product Manager - Resistivity and Logging While Drilling, Houston, TX 1990-1991
Direct responsibility for coordination among manufacturing, marketing, engineering, and field units. Supervised new
tool development, directed new field tests, and found solutions to problems with existing tools.
• Introduced new generation high technology - Array Induction Tool, after company’s previous attempt failed. Planed
and directed ambitious field test plan securing 32 field data sets in just over three months (5 months allowed). Was
one of the most efficient and successful field tests in company’s history.
• Managed “emergency” un-budgeted $150,000 retrieval rescue “fishing” operation, successfully recovering AIT
prototype from 4,000 foot well and saving Schlumberger’s $2M test facility. Flew personal Cessna-182 to
streamline operation, saving 10 days.

Responsible for supporting line management efforts to prevent accidents and promote leadership in Health, Safety, and

• Developed and published 100 page “Health, Safety, & Emergency Advice for Southeast Asia” manual for all

exclusivity over competition. Designed/procured special high pressure seismic compressor, resulting in reduced
operating rig time per job from 48 to 8 hours, saving client considerable expense.
