I am part of the Senior Management team here at the plant, strong leadership skills, good
communicator at all levels, currently leading staff through change of business pending the Plant
closure mid year 2016. I am responsible for 3 Supervisors 1 Planner 1 Admin and a total of 23 direct
reports.
Shut Down Management
Responsible for managing the Planning and Shutdown operations at Holcim, Westport, three Kiln
lines, two Cement Mills and three Raw Mills. All carried out under our Zero Harm objective, safely
completed under budget and on time.
Computer literacy
I am currently a Super User SAP CMMS for Holcim Cement, Westport playing a key role in MAC SAP
enhancements (Prometheus) by Holcim Global. I was a Super User for the implementation of the SAP
upgrade for the JT8D Jet Operations at the Air NZ/CEC Engine shop. Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Project, Excel, Word and Power Point.
Maintenance Budgets
Cost management and reporting - Initiate, create and manage Operating $11 million and Capital $1.9
million annual budgets in a timely and accurate manner.
Health and Safety
I have a very positive attitude towards Zero Harm-Safety First for all employees, contractors and
visitors. Active presence out on the Plant providing Health and Safety leadership.

Planning and Maintenance Manager 2015 - 2016
ROLEFUNCTION
Responsible for overall management of day-to-day maintenance/shutdowns Kilns, Mills and
Auxiliaries operations at the Westport. Plant working closely with Asset/Reliability Manager.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
Health and Safety – instill a vision of ‘ Zero Harm-Safety First’ for all employees, contractors
and visitors through day-to-day safety focus and effective leadership.
Environmental Compliance – ensure environmental objectives are continually worked
towards. Lessening of environmental impacts as a key objective.
Operational Excellence – identify and contribute to operational improvements and cost
efficiencies through process and system improvements.
Provide customer feedback on quality and execution of maintenance tasks.
Implement agreed process improvement initiatives to achieve annual increases in cement
production within agreed cost and quality parameters.
Identify risks and execute plans for all Kilns and Mills plant with the Engineering Manager.
Provide the Engineering Manager with proposed spend profile for the following years’ budget
and the Plant Master Plan in a timely fashion.
Meet or exceed all Production and Maintenance KPI’s, Overall Equipment Efficiency, Mean
Time Before Failure, and Safety Tours.
Shutdown – the effective management of equipment shutdowns. Ensure that all shutdowns
are minimized and the duration is shortened due to improved planning.
Planning – manage the maintenance planning process to ensure effective, predictive and
preventative maintenance occurs.
SAP Maintenance Systems – the provision of timely and accurate SAP Maintenance System
advice. Ensure the maintenance data within the SAP systems maintains integrity.
Cost management and reporting – initiate, create and manage operating and CAPEX budgets
in a timely and accurate manner.
KEYACHIEVEMENTS
Successfully planned and managed Kiln 2 tyre replacement which involved cutting a section
out of the Kiln shell and fitment of a new tyre. The tyre fabrication was the first time in the
global group to be fabricated in two rings rolled then shrunk together and welded.
Enhanced the communication between Production and Maintenance Departments to improve
the efficiency of the four-weekly Forward Schedule. Chair the weekly Production and
Maintenance Planning Meeting.
Managed the shutdown campaigns 2012 – 2016 which included all three kiln lines, two
cement mills and three raw mills. Carried out under our Zero Harm objective, safely
completed under budget and on time.

Hamilton Jet, Christchurch
Large Jet Fitting Charge Hand 2006 - 2008
ROLEFUNCTION
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of a busy manufacturing sub-
assembly of jets, including coordination of new spares.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
Initially shared, and then sole, responsibility for a team of 18 staff, split between two shifts, to
ensure that we met production schedules and slot times. This also included rotation of
apprentices. Regularly acted as Manufacturing Cell Leader in his absence, reporting to
Planning and Production Management.
KEYACHIEVEMENTS
Continually maximized efficiency by assessing production procedures using Lean Manufacture
techniques 5S, Kanban Continuous Improvement to achieve production demands.
The business was set to launch a new large jet onto the market and I had a key role in this
project, providing vital input into the integration of this into the current assembly. This
included documenting detailed assembly instructions and procedures, tooling required, and
work area layout.

Engine Overhaul Technician 1999 - 2006
ROLEFUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for disassembling, inspecting & reassembling JT8D engine modules: high-pressure
turbines, combustion nozzles, low-pressure turbine and exhausts, all within strict policies and
procedures under governing bodies.
