An introduction powerpoint for my Research Design and Methods in Exercise Science master's course. Discusses research projects and presentations I have done, and would like to do in the future, as well as expectations for the class.
2. My grandpa, brother, mom, dad and grandma at my college graduation. Family is
the most important thing to me. They are the best support system.

3. Design and budget for an
Athletic Training room
and facility.
In my last year of
undergrad, we had to
complete a paper and
presentation in which we
designed and budgeted a
complete and functional
athletic training room
from scratch. We had to
research other athletic
training facilities, what
they included, and how
we could afford it all with
the budget we were
allotted.

4. EXERCISE AND THE
BRAIN
It would be interesting to research the various neurological
effects that exercise has in athletes.
How being “mentally tough” can affect performance and
injury recovery.
How exercise can help relieve the symptoms of depression,
anxiety, and stress levels through hormone release.
How and why exercising regularly seems to improve your
overall mood and increase energy levels.
What types of exercise can be most beneficial to brain health.
If and how exercise and athletics improve academic
performance and concentration levels.
5. In undergrad I did
a presentation on
a complete
rehabilitation for a
fictional L4-L5
disc herniation
surgery recovery
in a collegiate
shot put thrower.

I separated the rehab into
phases and created daily
protocols for every day of
the recovery from day
after surgery to return to
play.
I had to present this
project to my peers and
preceptors in the athletic
training program.
It helped prepare me in
creating lengthy
rehabilitations for
athletes in real life with
various injuries.
7. EXPECTATIONS
I expect to become more efficient in researching topics
related specifically to exercise science.
I expect this course to prepare me for the research
assignments in the rest of the courses involved in my
exercise science masters program.
I expect this course to help me in my future career as an
athletic trainer.
