Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a kind of heart
disease including high blood pressure and strokes. The
medical research has shown that stress, poor nutrition,
smoking and lack of physical exercises are the causes of
heart disease.
The good news about CVD is that the death rate from
heart disease has decreased due to increase in people’s
health awareness. Today most of the people have changed
their life style to avoid the risk of CVD. As a result of
progress in medical sciences and technologies, peoplehave
better access to medicine, early diagnosis, high-tech
equipment and expert surgeons.
In spite of progress in fighting CVD it is still a major
problemin thedeveloped world and is becoming oneof the
burning problems in the developing world. The bad news
about CVD is that although the death rate has decreased,
even today most peopledie from the CVD in both western
and eastern countries. The surgical treatment is too much
expensive which has become a huge burden even for the
wealthy nations.

must be given to primary health care system, disease

community participation andgovernment programs despite
increasing resources in hospital care.
