2. Context: Design innovative solutions to
overcome water poverty in Cerro Verde, a
community in Lima, Peru, with no access to
basic services.

3. Project: Through a rigorous process of field research,
iterative prototyping, testing & evaluation, and commercial
strategy development, the entire class worked with participating
families in Peru to create products that families would be eager
and able to purchase.

4. Design role: Development
began with a 10-day intensive
research trip to Peru. Based on
lessons learned from testing and
user feedback, teams developed
low-cost, innovative prototypes
and systems to solve specific
water-related needs.
