2. Context: The energy use in households is yet increasing and
residents are often unaware of possible actions they can take to
reduce their energy usage. However, social media shows great
potential for diffusing peoples’ knowledge and for encouraging action.
3. Project: Development of an energy feedback system that
gives residents feedback on their energy usage and enables
households to compare their energy consumption with each other.
The web portal engages users through energy saving challenges
and encourages social communication amongst households.

Design role: To map user needs and demands in order to define and
develop suitable and feasible functionalities for the energy feedback system.
To design an attractive solution that enables and facilitates collaboration and
