Nishiwaki project
Revitalization of the old central area in the city

2. Context: in the central area of Nishiwaki city, with the
declination of once prosperous textile industry, vacant houses
are increasing and industrial buildings have been left empty.

3. Project: two buildings have
been renovated. An old house
to a boutique, and an old factory
to an exhibition hall for local
craftsmanship.

4. Design role: to promote new activities and to revitalize
the local industry through interaction of creators, entrepreneurs,
and neighbors, utilizing cultural heritages in the area.
