• Usages: We use past perfect continuous (progressive) tense to show
that an action began in the past and continued up to another point in
the past.
Ex: He had been writing the story for 30 minutes by the time his
brother arrived.
Dara had been waiting the bus for 30 minutes by the time it
arrived.
