the Course
• First semester nursing related course
• 2 credits (once a week for two hours)
• Ten broadly written course learning objectives
• Focus:
* Drug dosage calculations of oral and IV medications
* 15 Drug Classifications with specific medications
* Contemporary issues (Cultural & Herbal issues, etc.)
* Nutrition & electrolytes & nutritional support
* Medication administration – Nursing Process
* Special dosing considerations (patient populations)
• Challenge – Teaching a large amount of content in 14
weeks including testing (quizzes and exams)
