4. The Problem
4
“The choices individuals make about investing time and resources in credentials,
including taking on debt, may have a significant impact on their ability to earn
wages, pay back loans, and ultimately have more control over their socioeconomic
mobility; inappropriate choices can have severe long-term consequences.”
“Employers make decisions about the integrity of credentials based on biases
such as the reputation of the issuer or the longevity of the credential, rather than
using more objective information, such as the competencies included in the
credential or the employment performance of individuals who have earned the
credential.”
“Lack of transparency in quality assurance processes makes it hard for
endorsers to compare their endorsements to others’ or otherwise understand
endorsements in a broader context. “

8. Our Proposed Solution
8
QualityCredentials.ai will use labor-market, Credential
Engine, state/local/federal government, and crowd-
sourced data with machine learning to evaluate the quality
of a credential as it relates to industry demand, salary
premium, usefulness, and ROI. QualityCredentials.ai will also
generate insights into competencies needed for a specific
occupation and career pathways.
20. Looking ahead…
20
• Achieve credential transparency that promotes
confidence in decision and action
• Continue to improve upon data diversity and accuracy
• Connect and compare job market needs with
credential offerings, especially in the areas of
localization and competencies
• Leverage our expertise in career pathways and
machine learning to help users approach post-
secondary education strategically and outcome-
oriented (ie: gainful and satisfactory employment)
21. Benefits to Partners and Stakeholders
21
Individuals will be able to evaluate a credential’s quality in terms of salary premium,
industry demand, job-post mentions, peer reviews, Cost/ROI, competencies, and
careers
Employers will be able to evaluate a credential’s competencies, need, and
employment performance of those possessing a credential
Endorsers will gain insight into data points such as industry demand,
competencies, salary premium, and job placements providing a feedback
loop to their endorsements
