through partnerships and services. We understand that the world changes quickly, and technology changes even quicker. To
help our clients keep up, we evaluate, verify, and select a range of risk-reducing solutions, with pre-agreed discounts for our
clients to help them in their tech adoption journey.
We assist clients in their comprehensive risk management journey by combining our insurance products with our
Ecosystem solutions for greater overall value, reducing efforts of finding and checking risk-reducing solutions, and
supporting the increasing cost of risk with discounts on those solutions.
At no expense to the client, we provide customized account review and relevant technology recommendations for
clients of all sizes, often times matching those solutions with insurance products for maximum mutual benefit.
The Ecosystem is currently available for AXA XL lines of business in the Americas including: Construction, Environmental,
Property, Marine, Aerospace, Casualty, Fine Art, Active Assailant, Terrorism, and Design Professional.

Value for the Client & Impact in the Industry
The Ecosystem’s value-add services are aimed at deepening our relationship with our clients – transitioning from
transactional to partnership-oriented. The Ecosystem aspires to evolve our business model and reputation from an “Insurer
that Advises” to an “Advisor that Insures”.
To date, we have screened more than 810 technology solutions, vetted in detail more than 270, and partnered with 35
solutions. We continuously scout and vet our Preferred Partner network to be sure we have the most valuable, viable, and
relevant solutions for our clients.
We have made over 790 recommendations to 265+ unique clients on innovative solutions that can help them reduce-risk,
and pursue sustainable, prosperous growth. Of these, 55 clients have adopted more than $7.5M in risk-reducing
technology, a 17% conversion rate.
We have expanded our underwriting appetite by using our Preferred Partners’ solutions to help balance the risk. We’ve
developed two new underwriting classes of business hinged on technology adoption: Highly Protected Projects (HPP) and
Mass Timber Builder’s Risk insurance, and are in process of developing more insurance-partnership pairings that help our
clients protect more of their risk.
We are currently working with our actuarial team to create a model to measure the loss-reducing effects of the Ecosystem,
which will probably take some time to see given the novelty of the Ecosystem and the inherent delay in loss development
in some of our lines of business. We hope to be able to use these results to influence our pricing models more clearly in
the future, but we already assume that property and casualty loss experience before-and-after using risk-reducing
technologies should show a decreasing trend in claim frequency, which may affect premium rates over time. In this way we
are naturally supporting the rising cost of emerging risks for our clients, even on our current actuarial models.

Success Story #1: The client is a heavy-wheel, long-haul auto transport company who places their workers compensation insurance with us. They
wanted to use a fleet telematics solution to monitor their vehicles, but they didn't have enough cash to buy it right away. They asked us for advice on
this topic, even though we don't cover their auto liability policy, because they trust our value from the Ecosystem. This is a loyal client with a good
record of few losses – a great account for us to keep and offer extra services to. We showed them the Ecosystem and they liked our telematics
solutions, but they needed money to invest. We knew that reducing auto risk would also reduce workers compensation claims, which would benefit
both of us, so we offered to lower their collateral requirement in exchange for a stronger risk profile. The client then used that released collateral as
money to buy the telematics solution, and with a 25% discount from AXA XL. We also offered a longer term for the workers compensation policy (3
years instead of 1 year), and slightly lower premium as well. This made the deal better for the client, and ensured that we'd keep this "good risk" for a
few renewal cycles – saving the client the hassle of shopping around each year, securing the account for AXA XL.
Success Story #2: A large commercial and residential waste hauler client with a favorable loss history experienced more than $6M in worker’s
compensation claims over the past 5 years due to workers bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, and heaving trash items while on their routes. The client
was keen to support the wellness of their workers and reduce injury rates, and therefore losses. We suggested a worker wearable technology that
could help identify improper movement and cue the worker to correct their behavior in real-time in order to avoid potential injury. We helped the client
deploy 1000 units of this solution, and since implementation, this client has had zero claims for any individual donning a device. Because of this value-
add, we retained this client during renewal, despite that our closest competitor was a 10% lower in price. In addition, we were able to expand our
services to the client with a Risk Consulting engagement. Lastly, the client sought additional advice from us on their fleet management and we were
also able to help them procure 3000 units of fleet telematics and ADAS at a 25% discount, and for this we were able to reward them with a premium
rebate on their auto policy.
