2. moodboard
A lot of my inspiration comes
from other fantasy posters.
I really liked the colour
scheme for these posters,
which is mainly golden
browns and darker blues. We
associate dark blues with
mystery and magic, also with
adventure and intelligence.
With colours like golden
browns and reds, we think of
bravery and friendship,
these colours also represent
loyalty.
3. The background will be a very dark shade of blue,
it will be dark but not so dark so you cant see the
silhouette of the main character. The sparkles
coming from his wand will be a lighter shade of
blue, as well as the title. The reason I have chosen
the colour blue is because it represents loyalty,
responsibility and adventure, which is helpful since
my movie is a fantasy.
The reason I have had the main
character on this poster have his
back to the audience is because
we don’t know who he is yet, him
and his character are a mystery
to us at the moment. On the
other hand, I have his head
turned to the audience almost
like he is waiting for us to
accompany him on his upcoming
adventure.
On the other two posters
the background will also
be black, to create a
sense of mystery again.
I think it will be effective if we
have the character on this poster
facing towards the audience instead
of facing away- I think this will be a
good way of reflecting her
personality and how she and the
closed off main character are
different.

5. These are my favourite fonts I have chosen from DaFont. I think they will fit my movie
perfectly since curly, tall types of font is mainly associated with magic and fantasy
movies, like Enchanted or Harry Potter.

For my photos I intended my sister to be
the main focus of the shot, so I tried to
make sure there were little objects or
things in the background that will steal the
focus. I didn’t really study on the colours
of the shot, since I thought it would be better to edit the
photos later on to the colour of my liking. For my photos I
made sure that the majority of my sister was in shot so that
it would meet my expectations of my plan.
Since I didn’t use a
tripod to take my
photos, I made sure I
was sturdy and also
made sure I had a lot
of room to move
around. The camera
was on the right
settings and also
carefully packed away
in its bag.

21. • I got a lot of my
inspiration from fantasy
movie posters like The
Hobbit and Enchanted.
• The main focus of this poster is my
sister, but she is also in the shadows
which reflects her character as
mysterious, we do not yet know her
or her story, which intrigues the
audience as to why she is in the
shadows.
• The main colour scheme of my poster is
blue, which reflects mystery, fun, and
adventure. It is also one of the most
popular colours associated with fantasy
movies.
• I thought the font I used
was very relevant to the
genre of the film. It looks
quite old and the star on
the ‘I’ really reflects the
genre.
• The character is looking over
her shoulder at the audience,
to almost break the third wall
and see if the audience is
coming along with her on the
journey they have yet to
uncover. Her pose and facial
features also add more
mystery onto her character.
• Another addition to the
audience being invited to the
journey is the tagline, “Get
out your wizard hats.” This
is literally telling the
audience to get ready to
come on this adventure.
22. evaluation
How I used photoshop to edit my photos.
I used the selection tool to crop out the talent and drag her to a blank black background and I then
enlarged the image a bit. I also used the paintbrush tool to create shadows on her face by lowering the
opacity. I lowered the brightness to create a sense of mystery and make the poster more appealing to the
audience. I used the crop tool again to crop the backgrounds from the sparkles and magic photos that I
found on google. I edited them onto my poster and lowered the brightness on them to make them look more
realistic. I used the font ‘Magical’ on DaFont and edited it on Picrew to make it the desired colour. I used
this font because it is popularly associated with fantasy films.
How I created meaning in my posters.
I created meaning in my poster by making the main character look over her shoulder to create a sense of
mystery. Her looking over her shoulder suggests that she is waiting for the audience to join her on the
adventure she is about to begin. My poster is simple but also has meaning, since I added little sparkles and
hints of magic on the poster. I didn’t want to make the magic too obvious so it would look more realistic.
How I showed gene and narrative.
I showed narrative in my poster by making the character hold a wand. Obviously, wands are associated with
magic and spells, and the main character holding one in the poster automatically gives it away that she has
something to do with magic. The sparkles around her also support this theory of magic and wizards. My title
‘Bewziard’ is obviously a really big clue.
23. evaluation
How I attracted the audience.
I made sure that my target audience was attracted to my poster, by taking inspiration from
other fantasy movie posters, with the blue and gold colour themes and curly font, and also with
the images I used; eg, the magic, sparkles, magic mirror and wand.
How did you meet client brief requirements?
I met brief requirements by making sure my movie was kept at an age 15 certificate, and adding
the right logos. I also made sure my cast was diverse and I made sure narrative was clear
throughout my posters, and my cast names were clear.
