1) The document describes the aftermath of a tragedy - Stella is in the hospital badly injured and later dies, while her husband Calum blames himself. 2) At Stella's funeral, her brother Malichi tries to comfort Calum but ends up annoying him with insensitive comments about getting back to normal and not giving up his job, which Calum associates with Stella's death. 3) Calum forces a smile but is clearly still grieving and angry, wanting space rather than Malichi's attempts to cheer him up.

DTTFADE IN:
INT STELLA AND CALUM'S HOUSE IN WINCHESTER
Black screen slowly fades into a zoom in of a house plant, we
slowly move to the left of it. We are in a house with wooden
floors, and it is early in the morning. There is a little bit
of dust flying around. Silence. In the background we see
picture frames that are too blurry to focus on.
The camera then pans to a mid-shot of the photo frames, and
we slowly pan over them. The pictures are of mainly 2 people,
a married man and a woman- looking very happy in all of them.
The camera continues to pan over the photos- we see wedding
photos, family photos and framed selfies of the happy couple.
the camera now starts to very slowly pan away from the
pictures and down the hallway, on the wall there is a sign
that says "Home is Where the Heart is." We carry on down the
hallway and get a glimpse into the bedroom.
There are blankets on the floor in disarray, and black marks
and holes in the wall, and glass smashed on the wooden floor.
We continue down the hallway closer to the room. As we get
closer, we see that the room is even more chaotic compared to
first glance. Photos are on the floor, glass is smashed along
with a bedside table lamp that is also laying on the floor
smashed, the lightbulb flickering in a mysterious manor.
We also see that on the bed sheets, there is a small pool of
blood. The camera stops moving for a second, and then the
ticking of a small clock starts to fade in. After the camera
focusing on the pool of blood for a few seconds, it slowly
pans to the small clock on the wall above the head of the
bloody bed, ticking menacingly and reading half past two in
the morning.
FADE OUT
The sound of ticking slowly rises, as the camera zooms very
slowly onto it, the ticking continues loudly and then
everything goes black. Ticking continues.
FADE IN
INT HOSPITAL
The ticking turns into the beeping of a machine, the camera
zooms out of a heart monitor that is now beeping instead of
the ticking. No sound can be heard but the beeping. We are in
a hospital. The camera cuts to a shot of the window, showing
us the current weather outside, which is slightly cloudy but

the sun is obviously shining over the hospital.
The weather is slightly ironic, as the camera cuts to a shot
of a close-up of a man, CALUM, who looks incredibly worried.
He is focused on his wife, STELLA, and his eyes are glossy.
STELLA
This isn't your fault.
Calum squints in disbelief.
STELLA
(Hoarse)
You can't blame yourself.
CALUM
(Sighs heavily, and whispers)
How can I not? Who else's fault is it
that you're in here right now?
Stella says nothing as tears roll down her cheek. She is
laying in a hospital bed, looking very pale and worn down.
She is attached to all sort of monitors and she looks at her
husband, Calum sadly. Calum can't look at her in the eye. He
feels terrible.
CALUM
(in despair)
If I hadn't taken that position and
applied for that school none of this
would've happened.
STELLA
(shaking her head, disappointed)
Don't say that.
CALUM
You know I'm right! It was a waste of
our time Stella - I am and will never
be better than any of them, and how do
I pay? You get hurt!
Silence, while Calum stays seated with his head in his hands.
Stella looks at her husband with fondness, her heart slows.
STELLA
(softly)
Cal.
He looks up at her, tears threatening to spill from both of
their eyes. Beeping continues in the background, as if it is

counting the last seconds the couple has together.
STELLA.
(fondly)
You are destined for greatness. You have the ability to be
the best of the best, and I couldn't believe in you more.
Silence as tears finally fall down Calum's cheeks. He smiles
and gently holds Stella's hands. Camera stays focused on
their joint hands lay on the hospital bed, Stella has a
hospital wrist band around her wrist and Calum's wedding ring
is visible.
FADE OUT
Black screen but the beeping continues for a few more
seconds, but is fading. Beeping flat lines, beeping fades out
completely.
FADE IN
INT WINCHESTER CHURCH
A few weeks later, at Stella's funeral. Camera is on Calum's
left hand, wedding ring still visible, but Stella's hand is
not. Calum fiddles with his ring as birds quietly tweet in
the background. Camera cuts to Calum sat outside a Church on
the cobblestone steps, he looks sad and is wearing a suit.
People are standing around in front of him blurred out, all
wearing black. Camera slowly zooms out, still focused on
Calum while every other person is blurred out.
Bird tweeting slowly fades out and white noise fades in as
camera cuts to a close-up to Calum's face from below, the
church entrance is in view behind him. White noise grows as
someone approaches Calum from behind him. MALICHI, Stella's
brother, who is blurred out stands behind Calum and looks
down at the man.
MALICHI
(blurred)
Calum?
White noise grows louder and louder, but then stops suddenly
when Malichi places his hand on Calum's shoulder. Calum looks
up at Malichi. Malichi unblurs, he is also wearing a suit and
is holding two cigarettes in his hand.
MALICHI
How you doing mate?

He sits down next to Calum, camera cuts to a mid-shot of the
two men sat on the stairs. Malichi hands Calum a cigarette
and lights it for him. Calum shrugs.
CALUM
Yeah, alright. You?
MALICHI
I've been better.
They smile fondly at each other. Camera cuts to a over-the-
shoulder shot, their heads are blurred and other people are
now unblurred. The men sit there for a few seconds in
silence. Camera cuts to a close-up of Malichi, we're in
Calum's point of view.
MALICHI
Just a warning, my mum's saying she's
gonna come visit you like 3 times a
week.
Camera cuts to a mid-shot of Calum, we're now in Malichi's
POV. Calum gives a half smile.
MALICHII
I'll try talk her out of it if you
want. The woman's a bloody nightmare.
Camera cuts to a mid-shot of Malichi again. He jokes, trying
to make light of the situation. Malichi both laugh a bit.
They sit in silence again.
MALICHI
When you thinking of going back to
work? I bet they need your brains in
Hogwarts.
Stella's little brother is known for trying to make light of
bad situations, which Calum is not fond of. The camera cuts
to a mid-shot of Calum from straight ahead, Malichi is
slightly in frame. Calum sneers. He doesn't want to go back
to the reason his wife is dead. He hates it, he wants to say.
CALUM
(mumbling)
I dunno at the moment. I might not go
back at all.
MALICHI
(shocked)
Really?

Calum nods. Camera is still on Calum.
MALICHI
Stella loved your job. She always said
how good you are at it and how much
you love it... You suddenly want to
give it up?
Calum purses his lips. He's getting annoyed now. He doesn't
mean to be. But his wife just died. Can you blame him?
MALICHI
I'd give it a few days, maybe a week
or two and you'll be alright. You'll
be back to normal with your wands and
stuff.
Malichi was also known to be emotionally unaware and slightly
unempathetic. Camera stays on Calum, slightly zooming in.
MALICHI
You can't let this all ruin your life,
Calum. Just because this stuff is all
happening doesn't mean you have to
throw away what's most important to
you.
The most important thing? Is he joking?
The camera has been zooming in slowly to a close-up of Calum,
white noise builds as Calum's anger does.
MALICHI
(sadly)
Stella wouldn't want you to give this
up.
With that, Calum clears his throat and stands on his
cigarette which he absentmindedly let burn. Camera cuts to a
mid-shot of the two men again. Calum stands and grasps
Malichi's shoulder.
CALUM
(lowly)
I'm gonna go talk to your mum really
quickly. I'll see you in a bit, yeah?
Malichi nods slowly.

MALICHI
(annoying humorous tone)
I'll try not to eat all the food,
yeah?
Camera cuts to a close-up of Calum's face, he forces a laugh
and starts walking away. His smile quickly fades to an
unimpressed look, as he purses his lips at people who looked
over sadly. He hated the pity everyone was giving him.
