Master In Public Health
Master in Public Health with a Specialization in Environmental and Occupational Health
Just a couple months I lost sight of all the things I hoped to accomplish as a public health professional. Recently, my family had suffered the loss of
my grandmother. A month later my mother unexpectedly passed away. Losing my grandmother was hard but losing my mother was tragic. Everything
I once knew to be true was gone. At that time, I began to turn my back on my hope for the future. My mother played a great role in my life. A
significant role that no amount of money or time afforded would be enough to show my appreciation. My mother would shine brightest in moments
like this when I felt lost and confused. She would breathe confidence and reassure me...show more content...
As the CDC states simply "Public health connects us all", years past, present and future. Public health is an all–encompassing field that does not just
merely concern itself with diagnosing and treating patients. It observes, studies, researches, and mitigates the cause and effect relationships we
have within our environments as well as the rest of the world. It is a field devoted to improving the lives of all. I have developed a passion and
appreciation for public health because it does not merely observe end results and compute them into statistics, but reaches back in time to
understand how and why. Coming from a single parent household, of a low economic status I was affected by what we as public health
professionals understand to be the social determinants of health. I myself did not realize that these "determinants" existed in my personal life, nor did
I understand the way they shaped the lives of everyone. Public health has played a vital role in my life since I can remember. From getting my
vaccinations at the health department as a child, to the implantation of sidewalks in my neighborhood, to the banning of cigarette smoke in restaurants,
to the seatbelt campaign "click it or ticket", to the free HIV education and testing offered on my college campus. Public health is fascinating and I
would be honored to give to others what was so freely given to

My Journey Becoming A Masters Degree
Earning a Masters degree was not a goal that crossed my mind four years ago, let alone attending college in general. As a teenager in high school I
did not view the importance of education as I do today. Barely graduating high school with a 2.0 GPA, I felt the academic route was not the path
meant for me to travel. Luckily, friends and family convinced me to enroll in one semester at my local community college; this semester easily
changed the course of my life. Once enrolled, I was quickly immersed into my studies. I looked forward to absorbing new information daily, and often
found myself reading unassigned chapters for my own knowledge. Although many majors had interested me I knew I wanted one core theme in my
choice; an area of study which involved direct relation to people. Psychology quickly grew on me, with social psychology being my area of main
focus. At this point in my journey becoming a therapist was my goal, which involved my pursuit of a Masters degree. After various academic and
work experiences in my last year of undergraduate studies I began to question my commitment towards my original goal. I wanted to have a career,
which involved people, but no longer wanted this involvement to be in a clinical setting. I brought this up to the attention of an advisor, and the area
of I/O psychology was introduced to me. The thought of applying psychological concepts in field or work settings gave me a new perspective on how
I could apply my psychological knowledge in

Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my
family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father's office where I had a great chance to observe
different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I
understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. After finishing high
school, I made up my mind to pursue a career in Political Science. For this reason, I was enrolled to Istanbul Bilgi University's Political Science
program. After...show more content...

In order to achieve my career goals, I have to study and internalize the current developments and new policy strategies in public administration, and
political applications in different geographical areas of the world. A Master's Degree will grant me the necessary theoretical understanding, and will
also provide me with an in depth idea of realistic approaches in decision–making process and research skills to allow me develop exceptional ideas. I
would like to discover facts about various areas such as health administration, leading health problems in developed and developing countries, global

Master Cleanse Research Paper
TThe Master Cleanse: Is it the Real Deal? Ever heard of losing ten pounds in ten days? The Master Cleanse claims this to be true. The Master
Cleanse, also called the Lemonade Diet, is a liquid–only diet consisting of three things: a lemonade–like beverage, salt–water drink, and herbal laxative
tea. The diet consists of consuming nothing but this lemonade drink for ten days (or more) and you're supposed to shed weight and "detox" your
digestive system. All in all, the Master Cleanse is claimed and intended to make people healthier, feel more energetic, and happier. Beyonce did the

irritability, aches and pains (including caffeine headaches), lethargy, and eliminations that burn. Many of the symptoms disappear the next day. After
day three, most people experience no more detox symptoms until day seven or eight, and then it's smooth sailing. Other than on symptom days, people
report having unusual energy, strength, and clarity that continues throughout the cleanse"(3). There seems to be a lot of symptoms that go along with
this detoxing diet but seems to possibly be worth it in the long run. It may only do that for some people and not others though. The diet could

Nietzsche Chapter 17
Jonathan Liddle
Chapter 17 Essay Friedrich Nietzsche begins with a proposition that there are only two basic types of morality Slave morality and Master Morality.
These types of moralities that Nietzsche proposes were initially formed when society was actually made up of masters and slaves. In society masters
were completely free and slaves simply did whatever their masters said. Based on their respected situations Nietzsche argues these groups of people
came up with two very different types of morality. Of course there are no longer any literal masters and slaves in todays society, however Nietzsche
proposes while master and slaves no longer exist, the moral systems they came up with do....show more content...
If you're a slave then your entire life is dominated by your master, everything you do is for him/her. Clearly in this position as a slave, you will
come to resent your master, in fact you will come to resent your master so much that you will begin to think of your master as evil and everything
that she values is equally evil. Moral evil enters the picture in slave morality as a form of resentment for the master and everything the master
values things like courage, pride, nobility and bravery. So if slave morality gets off the ground by thinking about the evil master, then where does
goodness come into the picture for slave morality? The slave will think about it like this, evil is the opposite of goodness, I am the opposite of the
master and the master is evil. Therefore, it must be good to be a slave. Moral goodness in other words means being a good slave. For instance, a
good slave is humble, never draws attention to himself, so it must be morally good to be humble. A good slave is also blindly obedient. Does whatever
he is told without questioning. Therefore, blind obedience must be a good

Habit #1: Be Proactive: If you desire to be successful in life, you have to "be proactive and willing to endure hard work and dedication. Nothing in
the life is free; everything is brought with a price. We all can decide our own fate by making good decisions for ourselves in life. If we want love,
joy, peace, and happiness, we must practice all of these emotions through our physical actions. As William Ernest Henly once said in poem
Invictus, "I am the master of my fate, and the captain of my soul" (Poetry Foundation Web). In other words, responsibility begin with you first
before anyone else. Covey illustrates his first habit by insisting that an individual cannot blame other people for their errors and problems. One
must become proactive instead of reactive. Covey believes that reactive people are influenced by external stimuli such as their environment in which
people place the fault or blame to other people for their trials and tribulations. For instance, a child living in a low income neighborhood with scare
educational resources, can have the same opportunities to apply for ivy leagues universities, only if that student be proactive and does not become a
product of his/her environment. One of the best tips I received from habitat one was to be the change that I want to see in my community and to
continue to utilize my time to be more productive instead of being idle or destructive. Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind To be successful in life,
you need to have a

Master Nursing Program
Master's nursing programs prepare individuals for a diversity of avant–garde capacities in administration, teaching, research, informatics, and direct
patient care. Nurses at this position are needed as Clinical Nurse Leaders, nurse managers, clinical educators, health policy consultants, research
assistants, public health nurses, and in many other functions (AACN, 2011, p 3). Upon researching a number of schools, the school that seems most
appealing to me is University of Alabama at Birmingham due to the affordability and the quality of their nursing program.
Most graduate nursing schools have GRE as part of their requirement while others do not. An amalgamated total of 1,000 or an integrated score of
297 (new exam) on verbal and quantitative segments of the GRE. Test scores submitted to UAB from the GRE must not be more than five years old
as in most other schools that require GRE. In addition to passing the GRE, one needs to have a least possible cumulative grade point average of 3.0
on a 4.0 scale including other requirements such as three professional references, holding a nursing license in the state of practice, and official copies
of transcripts (UAB, 2015)....show more content...
Securing a job in a hospital is my priority after obtaining my BSN. I will then start preparing for the GRE six months into my employment with one
year into my employment been the most I intend to take the test.
The UAB School of Nursing offers scholarship, traineeship, fellowship and loan programs in which graduate students can apply.

Selflessness In The Military
Introduction This week are discussing the ever so important topic of resiliency. This concept plays a huge role in the lives of so many individuals and
is constantly preached to soldiers within the Army. Every unit has a Master Resiliency Trainer (MRT) assigned at every echelon. These individuals are
specifically trained to teach individuals how to take care of themselves, and others, in very difficult times. These difficult times can be either military
related or from their personal lives.
Three Concepts
Selflessness
Selfless service is greater than one person. In serving your country, you are doing your duty loyally without thought of recognition or gain (Dees,
2013, p. 63). Selflessness doesn't come without a price. So many soldiers...show more content...
These times are when resilience are needed at their most. When someone suffers in a way that would make them possibly doubt their skills or
meaning in life and at work. In 2013, the AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives) and researchers from the University of North Carolina
conducted a survey study to get a sense of the scope of CNO (Chief Nursing Executives) turnover (O'Connor & Batcheller, 2015). The study showed
that "for all the participants, this event [being fired] was a devastating loss in their personal and professional lives.
Building Resilience Any action that builds the strength, flexibility, or sustainability of the organizational leader builds capacity and adaptability
(Lane, McCormack, & Richardson, 2013, p. 12). To build resiliency strength is needed from within to assist in times of suffering. These sufferings
can be a loss of a close relative to the loss of a job. To build resilience assistance in the thought process of the one that is affected needs to be altered.
Thinking good thoughts, or the positive thoughts are needed to counter the normal bad thoughts due to a loss.

Reflective Essay: Master's Program
After completing my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science at the University of South Florida, I sought to improve academically, therefore I

learning style that best suited me and focused on time management. While enrolled in the master's program I worked thirty hours a week at Good
Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Medical students have to be able to apply what they learn in the classroom to a clinical setting.

Master's Degree In Nursing
The field of nursing is constantly changing and growing in order to facilitate the needs of the public. To address these challenges, obtaining an
advanced education can lead to better outcomes and health care promotion in nursing. According to the National League for Nursing (2012), a
baccalaureate prepared nurse is provided information on how to apply the skills needed to function as a registered nurse, advocate for the safety and
quality of care provided to patients and their families in the community, and promotes clinical inquiry by analyzing research and promoting best
practice through evidence–based outcomes (p. 39). The master's prepared nurse advances the skills learned as a baccalaureate nurse in order to provide
leadership and foster a healthy environment in a variety of positions and surroundings. Greater...show more content...
A master's degree provides the necessary critical thinking skills, knowledge, and understanding to question poor practices and make valuable changes in
the field of nursing. These changes provide a positive impact and quality improvement to health care.
Clark, Casey, and Morris (2015) suggest that master's degree nurses improved patient satisfaction, over all health, and decreased length of stay in
hospitals because of their advanced skills and knowledge (p. 332). Advanced academic education and theory allow the graduate nurse to make positive
change through community education and involvement, therefore, decreasing the number of health care disparities in the aging population. The value
of the master's degree enhances both the community served and helps to evolve the nursing field for years to

The traditional definition of the American Dream is the belief that everyone is given an equal opportunity to prevail and rise within the social
hierarchy. Companies use the concept of the American Dream to appeal to their consumers to buy their product. In his essay "Masters of Desire: The
Culture of American Advertising," Jack Solomon writes, "the American Dream has two faces; one communally egalitarian and the other competitively
elitist" (167). Although egalitarianism and elitism are at odds with one another, companies advertise the two together. Apple Incorporation is an
American technology company that began advertising their products in 1970. Nineteen seventy magazine advertisement "A is for Apple", 2009

The commercial is of two leading men, one acting as a Mac (an Apple product) and another man acting as a PC (a Microsoft product). Microsoft is
the leading competitor in computers against Apple. The two men, Mac, and PC are trying to sell themselves to a potential buyer, Megan. Megan
lists all her desires and needs in a computer with "no viruses, no headaches, and a fast processor". Behind the leading man acting as a PC, there are
about ten men also acting as a PC. As Megan listed her desires, more PCs left until there were none, allowing Mac to "rise above the crowds and
bask alone in the glory" as Megan chose to buy a Mac (Solomon 167). This continues to show the versatility of Apple computers and how Mac
eliminates the competition by satisfying all the potential buyer's requirements. This is also a slight form of bandwagon as Megan decides to
choose a Mac instead of a PC. At first glance, the commercial appeals to egalitarianism as PC and Mac act as a form of camaraderie and equal
playing ground to get Megan, the buyer. When in reality, Mac is dishonest as he becomes competitively elitist and decides to "rise above the
crowd and bask alone in the glory" by "winning" Megan as a potential customer (Solomon 167). The paradox of the American Dream that everyone
is given an equal opportunity to rise to success, however, there are suspicions that people. Solomon analysis of Woody Guthrie's anthem "This land
is your land and this land is my land" is applicable to Apple (167). Apple "increases the "my" which would be his customers, at the expense of the
"your", PC's customers. Apple's dishonesty allows PC to make a fool of himself thus losing the competition and giving up customer while Mac just
easily gains from PCs

Reflection Paper On Nurse Educator
Master of Science, Nurse Educator Reflection Paper In 2011, The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) published "The Essentials
of Master's Education in Nursing" as a guide for preparing Master level nurses for the critical leadership roles that they are increasingly being called
upon to fill in the rapidly evolving health care system. The University of Mary has incorporated those guidelines into "The Graduate Nursing Student
Handbook 2016–2017" along with specific program outcomes for each nursing specialty. The Master Prepared Nurse Educator role is pivotal in
channeling the ever–expanding body of nursing knowledge into organized curriculum tracks aimed at cultivating growth and professionalism in nursing.
Program of Study The University of Mary Graduate Handbook delineates eight areas of professional practice for the Nurse Educator. These areas
emphasize leadership, critical thinking, and an embedded commitment to evidence–based learning. Situational awareness is a concept which
encompasses these aspects. Originating within the aviation industry, it is defined as the ability to accurately discern what's occurring while
comprehending meaning and implications (Fore & Sculli, 2013). Adequate situational awareness is vital for those working in high stress industries
with a low tolerance for error. Although unfamiliar with the term, I first became interested in situational awareness after observing the impact of a
sentinel error which occurred on a unit where I worked. The involved nurses were competent and respected. A few years later, I attended the Magnet
Conference in Kentucky as a representative with the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. The topics included patient safety and the need for improved
processes in patient care. Since that time, I have been riveted by the question, why do competent, knowledgeable nurses occasionally make serious
judgement mistakes and would ongoing education and coaching be effective in mitigating those mistakes?
Course Goals
Motivational speaker Les Bloom observed that "you cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you
change" (Vance, 2014). Change, however, requires a willingness to learn new ways of thinking

Mastering a Skill
Mastering a Skill
We live in a society where we constantly find ourselves frantically racing against the world to catch up to it. We as human beings have so many
simple skills that we execute everyday and most of these seem like they are second nature to us; since they are part of a daily routine, we often
overlook these skills and take it simply as part of life.
There are, however, certain skills that only a limited of number of people have – one of these skills is one that most people do not have, but that
absolutely everyone can benefit one, is simple and effective time management. We live in a society where we often find ourselves frantically racing

But for the tasks that you can do, work for them – and give energy, enthusiasm, and determination to each. Do not procrastinate; to live a healthier,

Why I Want To Pursue A Master's Degree
With the ambition of pursuing my Master's degree in Justice, Policy and leadership there are a few things that I hope to accomplish both
personally and professionally. The first is a continuation on the education I received when working towards my bachelor's degree. I earned a
bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and this will allow me to further expand on and update the information I gathered during that time. When I
began my bachelor's degree and through the course of my studies I intended to and in fact did become a Probation and Parole officer with the
Kentucky Department of Corrections. I have held my position within the department for almost 7 years. In my time as a Probation and Parole
officer, I have been able to use and put into practice the material I learned earning my bachelor's degree. However, over the course of this 7 years I
have also watched as not...show more content...
However, after 7 years of a revolving door of mothers, fathers, sons and daughter that continue to enter my office, I began looking at other avenues
that perhaps would give me the option to reach people in a different manner. From possibly being able to reach offenders in a different way, other
than just being the one they have to answer to, to perhaps being able to even teach others to do the job I do. As my time in this path has grown,
with it has grown my vision of other possibilities. Criminal Justice covers so many different aspects of the life cycle of an offender, the life cycle
of a treatment program, of a prison, of a criminal justice classroom. I am finding that the more I see in the world, the more I want to see in the
world. I believe that in working towards and ultimately achieving my goal of receiving my master's degree, I would not only gain deeper insight in
the world as a whole, but gain a deeper insight in the slices of the world around me

Examples Of Woland Good Vs Evil

Good Vs. Evil
The main focus of my paper will be the good and evil that is shown throughout the novel by the character, Woland. I believe that Professor Woland
shows many different examples in the book of both good and evil. I think that his character alone, was able to capture the theme of Good vs. Evil
throughout the entire book. Though he may have shown a little bit more of one side than the other, and there are even a few events that will have
you thinking to yourself about whether the act from Professor Woland was an act of evil or really a good act that may have just come off as evil at
first. I still think that Professor Woland has many great examples of bothgood and evil that...show more content...
This benefitted the Master greatly because had Professor Woland not recovered the story from the ashes then the Master never would have been
able to get it back and everything that he had already written would have been lost forever. This ends up being a very crucial part in the book. This
example shows that there are sometimes where Professor Woland would use his power for good instead of evil. He could have just not helped the
Master at all, and he would have just been left with a pile of ashes that used to be his story. Even though this did help Professor Woland, it still had a
positive impact on the Master. Had Professor Woland always used his powers for good instead of evil, he would have been able to great things for
people throughout the novel.
Another example of how Professor Woland does evil in the novel is how he manipulates Likhodeyev so that Professor Woland can have seven
performances of black magic at his theatre. Likhodeyev wakes up, and feels very hung over. Professor Woland is standing right there with a piece of
paper that has Likhodeyev's signature on it, stating that Professor Woland may do his performances at Likhodeyev's theatre. Likhodeyev does not
remember signing this at all. Even though he does not remember, he still feels like he must let him do the performances because his signature is on the
contract. This is a great example of Professor Woland doing evil because he has manipulated

A Master of Science degree (in Latin, Magister Scientaie) is a postgraduate academic Master's Degree awarded by universities worldwide. In

The latter option is most common. It involves writing and defending a thesis or completing a research project which represents the culmination of the
material learned.
Admission to a Master 's program is normally contingent upon holding a bachelor's degree. Should the student desire to graduate from a doctoral
program, Master's level training is a prerequisite. In some fields or graduate programs, work on a doctorate can begin as soon as the bachelor's degree is
finished. Some programs offer a joint Bachelor 's and Master 's degree after four to five years of study. At the completion of these programs both a B.A.
and an M.S. can be awarded.
For thesis projects, students will typically work with an academic adviser to propose a topic, write a research prospectus and draft a final paper
describing the research results. The research process takes about one year. The thesis is then reviewed by the student's academic committee who must
approve the paper before the student can proceed to graduation. If revisions are needed, graduation could be delayed for one or more semesters.
Many graduate schools have residency requirements to complete a degree. A student may be required to spend at least one year living on campus and
must accumulate a minimum number of course credits to be considered eligible for his degree. As online graduate education advanced, this residency
requirement has been adjusted. Matriculation online may

Master Narrative In American History
Even though America claims that it is a diverse country, they fail to include diverse people in US history master narratives. According to Dr. Wills, a
Master Narrative dominates an overarching template that presents history. The Master Narrative has made a few alterations over the past years to who
is included in the curriculum so that it shows the diversity that makes America. The issue with having a diverse curriculum is that the master narrative
focuses primarily on the growth of the country, yet it often leaves out other races that contributed such as Latinos, Asians or Blacks. Visibility within
the curriculum As people further their educational careers they gain a greater understanding who was present certain times in history. Yet students that
are in K–12 are often taught history in a limited way so that the master narrative makes sense to the students. An article was written by Sohyun An
regarding the visibility of diversity within the curriculum which is very limited. An states "research found numerous distortions have remained and
historical agency and voice of Native Americans has been denied in the latest generation of textbooks," meaning that the textbooks are including the
natives but they are still invisible. The invisibility of the Natives proves that the curriculum is not diverse because it...show more content...
According to An, "textbooks still tend to focus on noncontroversial histories and one–dimensional, heroic figures" meaning that textbooks are being
portrayed so that students do not think about how certain things actually happened. The textbooks in US history want to prove to students that America
has a clean history where there are heroes and are often one–sided benefiting white people. So how is it that students are being taught by the master
narrative about a diverse America where a minimal amount of diversity is being taught to

signifies aristocratic strength, leadership yet viciousness and danger. This malevolence is indicated through the candidate's elongated nose, which
reminds consumers of Pinocchio, a character known to lies and deceits. Both men, despite having contradictory characteristics, convey hypocrisy in
different ways. For instance, the assistant shrouds his jealousy and the candidate lies to his audience as he symbolizes Pinocchio. Absolut vodka is the
representation of conceited pleasure as well as precarious reality. The advertisement suggests that lies exist within society yet those of higher social
rank are looked upon with constant respect rather than disdain. Despite being represented as potential, the assistant's abilities are not recognized or
rewarded. As a result, wealthy clients fantasize to maintain their superiority by buying Absolut vodka. On the other hand, middleclass consumers

Master In Public Health

  • 1. Master In Public Health Master in Public Health with a Specialization in Environmental and Occupational Health Just a couple months I lost sight of all the things I hoped to accomplish as a public health professional. Recently, my family had suffered the loss of my grandmother. A month later my mother unexpectedly passed away. Losing my grandmother was hard but losing my mother was tragic. Everything I once knew to be true was gone. At that time, I began to turn my back on my hope for the future. My mother played a great role in my life. A significant role that no amount of money or time afforded would be enough to show my appreciation. My mother would shine brightest in moments like this when I felt lost and confused. She would breathe confidence and reassure me...show more content... As the CDC states simply "Public health connects us all", years past, present and future. Public health is an all–encompassing field that does not just merely concern itself with diagnosing and treating patients. It observes, studies, researches, and mitigates the cause and effect relationships we have within our environments as well as the rest of the world. It is a field devoted to improving the lives of all. I have developed a passion and appreciation for public health because it does not merely observe end results and compute them into statistics, but reaches back in time to understand how and why. Coming from a single parent household, of a low economic status I was affected by what we as public health professionals understand to be the social determinants of health. I myself did not realize that these "determinants" existed in my personal life, nor did I understand the way they shaped the lives of everyone. Public health has played a vital role in my life since I can remember. From getting my vaccinations at the health department as a child, to the implantation of sidewalks in my neighborhood, to the banning of cigarette smoke in restaurants, to the seatbelt campaign "click it or ticket", to the free HIV education and testing offered on my college campus. Public health is fascinating and I would be honored to give to others what was so freely given to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Journey Becoming A Masters Degree Earning a Masters degree was not a goal that crossed my mind four years ago, let alone attending college in general. As a teenager in high school I did not view the importance of education as I do today. Barely graduating high school with a 2.0 GPA, I felt the academic route was not the path meant for me to travel. Luckily, friends and family convinced me to enroll in one semester at my local community college; this semester easily changed the course of my life. Once enrolled, I was quickly immersed into my studies. I looked forward to absorbing new information daily, and often found myself reading unassigned chapters for my own knowledge. Although many majors had interested me I knew I wanted one core theme in my choice; an area of study which involved direct relation to people. Psychology quickly grew on me, with social psychology being my area of main focus. At this point in my journey becoming a therapist was my goal, which involved my pursuit of a Masters degree. After various academic and work experiences in my last year of undergraduate studies I began to question my commitment towards my original goal. I wanted to have a career, which involved people, but no longer wanted this involvement to be in a clinical setting. I brought this up to the attention of an advisor, and the area of I/O psychology was introduced to me. The thought of applying psychological concepts in field or work settings gave me a new perspective on how I could apply my psychological knowledge in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father's office where I had a great chance to observe different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. After finishing high school, I made up my mind to pursue a career in Political Science. For this reason, I was enrolled to Istanbul Bilgi University's Political Science program. After...show more content... The society is moving towards a large–scale economy and there is an exceptional increase of free trade and exchange all around the world. This fact has brought vast opportunities to build up newer policies, wide–range political programs and methodologies in the field of public administration. My intention is to supply well–rounded ideas which would possibly contribute to public administration in my home country. I am determined to provide meaningful and finest solutions to diverse problems of public administration. Consequently, my goal is to successfully complete master of public administration and serve society as a high quality public official. In order to achieve my career goals, I have to study and internalize the current developments and new policy strategies in public administration, and political applications in different geographical areas of the world. A Master's Degree will grant me the necessary theoretical understanding, and will also provide me with an in depth idea of realistic approaches in decision–making process and research skills to allow me develop exceptional ideas. • 4. Master Cleanse Research Paper TThe Master Cleanse: Is it the Real Deal? Ever heard of losing ten pounds in ten days? The Master Cleanse claims this to be true. The Master Cleanse, also called the Lemonade Diet, is a liquid–only diet consisting of three things: a lemonade–like beverage, salt–water drink, and herbal laxative tea. The diet consists of consuming nothing but this lemonade drink for ten days (or more) and you're supposed to shed weight and "detox" your digestive system. All in all, the Master Cleanse is claimed and intended to make people healthier, feel more energetic, and happier. Beyonce did the Master Cleanse to quickly drop weight to play in Dreamgirls, but the real question is, is this detoxing diet even healthy for you in the long run, or is it you just...show more content... In the words of Maura Shenker, "You may also suffer digestive issues because of the constant flushing of your system, which can damage healthy probiotic bacteria that aid digestion and help keep your immune system strong"(3). This quote justifies the master cleanse could have danger to your digestive system and normal bodily functions. According to Tina Rubin who wrote "Mastering the Master Cleanse", "Detox symptoms include irritability, aches and pains (including caffeine headaches), lethargy, and eliminations that burn. Many of the symptoms disappear the next day. After day three, most people experience no more detox symptoms until day seven or eight, and then it's smooth sailing. Other than on symptom days, people report having unusual energy, strength, and clarity that continues throughout the cleanse"(3). There seems to be a lot of symptoms that go along with this detoxing diet but seems to possibly be worth it in the long run. It may only do that for some people and not others though. The diet could potentially come with several symptoms aches and pains. If people claim to that going through the pain and not eating was tolerable then it could be worth a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Nietzsche Chapter 17 Jonathan Liddle Chapter 17 Essay Friedrich Nietzsche begins with a proposition that there are only two basic types of morality Slave morality and Master Morality. These types of moralities that Nietzsche proposes were initially formed when society was actually made up of masters and slaves. In society masters were completely free and slaves simply did whatever their masters said. Based on their respected situations Nietzsche argues these groups of people came up with two very different types of morality. Of course there are no longer any literal masters and slaves in todays society, however Nietzsche proposes while master and slaves no longer exist, the moral systems they came up with do....show more content... If you're a slave then your entire life is dominated by your master, everything you do is for him/her. Clearly in this position as a slave, you will come to resent your master, in fact you will come to resent your master so much that you will begin to think of your master as evil and everything that she values is equally evil. Moral evil enters the picture in slave morality as a form of resentment for the master and everything the master values things like courage, pride, nobility and bravery. So if slave morality gets off the ground by thinking about the evil master, then where does goodness come into the picture for slave morality? The slave will think about it like this, evil is the opposite of goodness, I am the opposite of the master and the master is evil. Therefore, it must be good to be a slave. Moral goodness in other words means being a good slave. For instance, a good slave is humble, never draws attention to himself, so it must be morally good to be humble. A good slave is also blindly obedient. Does whatever he is told without questioning. Therefore, blind obedience must be a good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Habit #1: Be Proactive: If you desire to be successful in life, you have to "be proactive and willing to endure hard work and dedication. Nothing in the life is free; everything is brought with a price. We all can decide our own fate by making good decisions for ourselves in life. If we want love, joy, peace, and happiness, we must practice all of these emotions through our physical actions. As William Ernest Henly once said in poem Invictus, "I am the master of my fate, and the captain of my soul" (Poetry Foundation Web). In other words, responsibility begin with you first before anyone else. Covey illustrates his first habit by insisting that an individual cannot blame other people for their errors and problems. One must become proactive instead of reactive. Covey believes that reactive people are influenced by external stimuli such as their environment in which people place the fault or blame to other people for their trials and tribulations. For instance, a child living in a low income neighborhood with scare educational resources, can have the same opportunities to apply for ivy leagues universities, only if that student be proactive and does not become a product of his/her environment. One of the best tips I received from habitat one was to be the change that I want to see in my community and to continue to utilize my time to be more productive instead of being idle or destructive. Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind To be successful in life, you need to have a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Master Nursing Program Master's nursing programs prepare individuals for a diversity of avant–garde capacities in administration, teaching, research, informatics, and direct patient care. Nurses at this position are needed as Clinical Nurse Leaders, nurse managers, clinical educators, health policy consultants, research assistants, public health nurses, and in many other functions (AACN, 2011, p 3). Upon researching a number of schools, the school that seems most appealing to me is University of Alabama at Birmingham due to the affordability and the quality of their nursing program. Most graduate nursing schools have GRE as part of their requirement while others do not. An amalgamated total of 1,000 or an integrated score of 297 (new exam) on verbal and quantitative segments of the GRE. Test scores submitted to UAB from the GRE must not be more than five years old as in most other schools that require GRE. In addition to passing the GRE, one needs to have a least possible cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale including other requirements such as three professional references, holding a nursing license in the state of practice, and official copies of transcripts (UAB, 2015)....show more content... Securing a job in a hospital is my priority after obtaining my BSN. I will then start preparing for the GRE six months into my employment with one year into my employment been the most I intend to take the test. • 8. Selflessness In The Military Introduction This week are discussing the ever so important topic of resiliency. This concept plays a huge role in the lives of so many individuals and is constantly preached to soldiers within the Army. Every unit has a Master Resiliency Trainer (MRT) assigned at every echelon. These individuals are specifically trained to teach individuals how to take care of themselves, and others, in very difficult times. These difficult times can be either military related or from their personal lives. Three Concepts Selflessness Selfless service is greater than one person. In serving your country, you are doing your duty loyally without thought of recognition or gain (Dees, 2013, p. 63). Selflessness doesn't come without a price. So many soldiers...show more content... These times are when resilience are needed at their most. When someone suffers in a way that would make them possibly doubt their skills or meaning in life and at work. In 2013, the AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives) and researchers from the University of North Carolina conducted a survey study to get a sense of the scope of CNO (Chief Nursing Executives) turnover (O'Connor & Batcheller, 2015). The study showed that "for all the participants, this event [being fired] was a devastating loss in their personal and professional lives. Building Resilience Any action that builds the strength, flexibility, or sustainability of the organizational leader builds capacity and adaptability (Lane, McCormack, & Richardson, 2013, p. 12). To build resiliency strength is needed from within to assist in times of suffering. These sufferings can be a loss of a close relative to the loss of a job. To build resilience assistance in the thought process of the one that is affected needs to be altered. Thinking good thoughts, or the positive thoughts are needed to counter the normal bad thoughts due to a loss. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Reflective Essay: Master's Program After completing my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science at the University of South Florida, I sought to improve academically, therefore I enrolled in Barry University master's program. Barry provided the tools and setting I needed to achieve academic excellence. The small classes allowed me to interact with classmates to form study groups and build closer relationships with my professors. Barry challenged me to find the learning style that best suited me and focused on time management. • 10. Master's Degree In Nursing The field of nursing is constantly changing and growing in order to facilitate the needs of the public. To address these challenges, obtaining an advanced education can lead to better outcomes and health care promotion in nursing. According to the National League for Nursing (2012), a baccalaureate prepared nurse is provided information on how to apply the skills needed to function as a registered nurse, advocate for the safety and quality of care provided to patients and their families in the community, and promotes clinical inquiry by analyzing research and promoting best practice through evidence–based outcomes (p. 39). A master's degree provides the necessary critical thinking skills, knowledge, and understanding to question poor practices and make valuable changes in the field of nursing. These changes provide a positive impact and quality improvement to health care. Clark, Casey, and Morris (2015) suggest that master's degree nurses improved patient satisfaction, over all health, and decreased length of stay in hospitals because of their advanced skills and knowledge (p. 332). • 11. The traditional definition of the American Dream is the belief that everyone is given an equal opportunity to prevail and rise within the social hierarchy. Companies use the concept of the American Dream to appeal to their consumers to buy their product. In his essay "Masters of Desire: The Culture of American Advertising," Jack Solomon writes, "the American Dream has two faces; one communally egalitarian and the other competitively elitist" (167). Although egalitarianism and elitism are at odds with one another, companies advertise the two together. Apple Incorporation is an American technology company that began advertising their products in 1970. Nineteen seventy magazine advertisement "A is for Apple", 2009 commercial "Elimination", and...show more content... The commercial is of two leading men, one acting as a Mac (an Apple product) and another man acting as a PC (a Microsoft product). Microsoft is the leading competitor in computers against Apple. The two men, Mac, and PC are trying to sell themselves to a potential buyer, Megan. Megan lists all her desires and needs in a computer with "no viruses, no headaches, and a fast processor". Behind the leading man acting as a PC, there are about ten men also acting as a PC. As Megan listed her desires, more PCs left until there were none, allowing Mac to "rise above the crowds and bask alone in the glory" as Megan chose to buy a Mac (Solomon 167). This continues to show the versatility of Apple computers and how Mac eliminates the competition by satisfying all the potential buyer's requirements. This is also a slight form of bandwagon as Megan decides to choose a Mac instead of a PC. At first glance, the commercial appeals to egalitarianism as PC and Mac act as a form of camaraderie and equal playing ground to get Megan, the buyer. When in reality, Mac is dishonest as he becomes competitively elitist and decides to "rise above the crowd and bask alone in the glory" by "winning" Megan as a potential customer (Solomon 167). The paradox of the American Dream that everyone is given an equal opportunity to rise to success, however, there are suspicions that people. Solomon analysis of Woody Guthrie's anthem "This land is your land and this land is my land" is applicable to Apple (167). Apple "increases the "my" which would be his customers, at the expense of the "your", PC's customers. Apple's dishonesty allows PC to make a fool of himself thus losing the competition and giving up customer while Mac just easily gains from PCs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflection Paper On Nurse Educator Master of Science, Nurse Educator Reflection Paper In 2011, The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) published "The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing" as a guide for preparing Master level nurses for the critical leadership roles that they are increasingly being called upon to fill in the rapidly evolving health care system. The University of Mary has incorporated those guidelines into "The Graduate Nursing Student Handbook 2016–2017" along with specific program outcomes for each nursing specialty. The Master Prepared Nurse Educator role is pivotal in channeling the ever–expanding body of nursing knowledge into organized curriculum tracks aimed at cultivating growth and professionalism in nursing. Program of Study The University of Mary Graduate Handbook delineates eight areas of professional practice for the Nurse Educator. These areas emphasize leadership, critical thinking, and an embedded commitment to evidence–based learning. Situational awareness is a concept which encompasses these aspects. Originating within the aviation industry, it is defined as the ability to accurately discern what's occurring while comprehending meaning and implications (Fore & Sculli, 2013). Adequate situational awareness is vital for those working in high stress industries with a low tolerance for error. Although unfamiliar with the term, I first became interested in situational awareness after observing the impact of a sentinel error which occurred on a unit where I worked. The involved nurses were competent and respected. A few years later, I attended the Magnet Conference in Kentucky as a representative with the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. The topics included patient safety and the need for improved processes in patient care. Since that time, I have been riveted by the question, why do competent, knowledgeable nurses occasionally make serious judgement mistakes and would ongoing education and coaching be effective in mitigating those mistakes? Course Goals Motivational speaker Les Bloom observed that "you cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change" (Vance, 2014). Change, however, requires a willingness to learn new ways of thinking Get more content on HelpWriting.net

We as human beings have so many simple skills that we execute everyday and most of these seem like they are second nature to us; since they are part of a daily routine, we often overlook these skills and take it simply as part of life. There are, however, certain skills that only a limited of number of people have – one of these skills is one that most people do not have, but that absolutely everyone can benefit one, is simple and effective time management. • 14. Why I Want To Pursue A Master's Degree With the ambition of pursuing my Master's degree in Justice, Policy and leadership there are a few things that I hope to accomplish both personally and professionally. The first is a continuation on the education I received when working towards my bachelor's degree. I earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and this will allow me to further expand on and update the information I gathered during that time. When I began my bachelor's degree and through the course of my studies I intended to and in fact did become a Probation and Parole officer with the Kentucky Department of Corrections. I have held my position within the department for almost 7 years. In my time as a Probation and Parole officer, I have been able to use and put into practice the material I learned earning my bachelor's degree. However, over the course of this 7 years I have also watched as not...show more content... However, after 7 years of a revolving door of mothers, fathers, sons and daughter that continue to enter my office, I began looking at other avenues that perhaps would give me the option to reach people in a different manner. From possibly being able to reach offenders in a different way, other than just being the one they have to answer to, to perhaps being able to even teach others to do the job I do. As my time in this path has grown, with it has grown my vision of other possibilities. Criminal Justice covers so many different aspects of the life cycle of an offender, the life cycle of a treatment program, of a prison, of a criminal justice classroom. I am finding that the more I see in the world, the more I want to see in the world. I believe that in working towards and ultimately achieving my goal of receiving my master's degree, I would not only gain deeper insight in the world as a whole, but gain a deeper insight in the slices of the world around me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Examples Of Woland Good Vs Evil Eddie Hoecker Russian Lit. April 23, 2012 Dr. Z Good Vs. Evil The main focus of my paper will be the good and evil that is shown throughout the novel by the character, Woland. I believe that Professor Woland shows many different examples in the book of both good and evil. I think that his character alone, was able to capture the theme of Good vs. Evil throughout the entire book. Though he may have shown a little bit more of one side than the other, and there are even a few events that will have you thinking to yourself about whether the act from Professor Woland was an act of evil or really a good act that may have just come off as evil at first. I still think that Professor Woland has many great examples of bothgood and evil that...show more content... This benefitted the Master greatly because had Professor Woland not recovered the story from the ashes then the Master never would have been able to get it back and everything that he had already written would have been lost forever. This ends up being a very crucial part in the book. This example shows that there are sometimes where Professor Woland would use his power for good instead of evil. He could have just not helped the Master at all, and he would have just been left with a pile of ashes that used to be his story. Even though this did help Professor Woland, it still had a positive impact on the Master. Had Professor Woland always used his powers for good instead of evil, he would have been able to great things for people throughout the novel. Another example of how Professor Woland does evil in the novel is how he manipulates Likhodeyev so that Professor Woland can have seven performances of black magic at his theatre. Likhodeyev wakes up, and feels very hung over. Professor Woland is standing right there with a piece of paper that has Likhodeyev's signature on it, stating that Professor Woland may do his performances at Likhodeyev's theatre. Likhodeyev does not remember signing this at all. Even though he does not remember, he still feels like he must let him do the performances because his signature is on the contract. This is a great example of Professor Woland doing evil because he has manipulated Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Master Of Science Degree Programs Master of Science Degree Programs This entry gives a general overview of online Master of Science programs, then specifically examines programs in high demand and those offered in accelerated formats. Next, the entry focuses on information students need to succeed in M.S. programs: how to find the right program, and a major problem that they will likely face during online matriculation. A Master of Science degree (in Latin, Magister Scientaie) is a postgraduate academic Master's Degree awarded by universities worldwide. In abbreviated form, the degree may appear on academic transcripts variously as MSc., M.Sc., M.Sci., M.Si., Sc.M., M.S., MS, AM or SM. After the Master of Arts, the M.S. is the most completed graduate degree in the...show more content... The latter option is most common. It involves writing and defending a thesis or completing a research project which represents the culmination of the material learned. Admission to a Master 's program is normally contingent upon holding a bachelor's degree. Should the student desire to graduate from a doctoral program, Master's level training is a prerequisite. In some fields or graduate programs, work on a doctorate can begin as soon as the bachelor's degree is finished. Some programs offer a joint Bachelor 's and Master 's degree after four to five years of study. At the completion of these programs both a B.A. and an M.S. can be awarded. For thesis projects, students will typically work with an academic adviser to propose a topic, write a research prospectus and draft a final paper describing the research results. The research process takes about one year. The thesis is then reviewed by the student's academic committee who must approve the paper before the student can proceed to graduation. If revisions are needed, graduation could be delayed for one or more semesters. Many graduate schools have residency requirements to complete a degree. A student may be required to spend at least one year living on campus and must accumulate a minimum number of course credits to be considered eligible for his degree. As online graduate education advanced, this residency requirement has been adjusted. Matriculation online may Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Master Narrative In American History Even though America claims that it is a diverse country, they fail to include diverse people in US history master narratives. According to Dr. Wills, a Master Narrative dominates an overarching template that presents history. The Master Narrative has made a few alterations over the past years to who is included in the curriculum so that it shows the diversity that makes America. The issue with having a diverse curriculum is that the master narrative focuses primarily on the growth of the country, yet it often leaves out other races that contributed such as Latinos, Asians or Blacks. Visibility within the curriculum As people further their educational careers they gain a greater understanding who was present certain times in history. Yet students that are in K–12 are often taught history in a limited way so that the master narrative makes sense to the students. An article was written by Sohyun An regarding the visibility of diversity within the curriculum which is very limited. An states "research found numerous distortions have remained and historical agency and voice of Native Americans has been denied in the latest generation of textbooks," meaning that the textbooks are including the natives but they are still invisible. The invisibility of the Natives proves that the curriculum is not diverse because it...show more content... According to An, "textbooks still tend to focus on noncontroversial histories and one–dimensional, heroic figures" meaning that textbooks are being portrayed so that students do not think about how certain things actually happened. The textbooks in US history want to prove to students that America has a clean history where there are heroes and are often one–sided benefiting white people. So how is it that students are being taught by the master narrative about a diverse America where a minimal amount of diversity is being taught to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

"People must be trained to desire, to want new things even before the old had been entirely consumed [...] Man's desires must overshadow his needs.", says Paul Mazur in response to the problem of overproduction post World War I during the second industrial revolution. The quote suggests that the American consumer culture takes its roots from the paradoxical consciousness between desires and needs. One may not call for a necessity but desire its symbolic associated value. As a result, products are tactically advertised through both rational and emotional appeal. By emphasizing the difference in social hierarchy and creating the needs for prominence and autonomy, Absolut advertisement manipulates the dual nature of the American dream to sell their...show more content... Ultimately, it manipulates the "dual nature of the American dream" (Solomon, 56) to construct customers' subconscious desires. Having analyzed the men's depictions in the advertisement, it appears that American population comprises mostly of "assistant" who strive the social summit of the "candidate". As a signifier, the assistant's blue tie indicates middleclass' ambition, and desire for professionalism. Meanwhile, the candidate's red tie signifies aristocratic strength, leadership yet viciousness and danger. This malevolence is indicated through the candidate's elongated nose, which reminds consumers of Pinocchio, a character known to lies and deceits. Both men, despite having contradictory characteristics, convey hypocrisy in different ways. For instance, the assistant shrouds his jealousy and the candidate lies to his audience as he symbolizes Pinocchio. Absolut vodka is the representation of conceited pleasure as well as precarious reality. The advertisement suggests that lies exist within society yet those of higher social rank are looked upon with constant respect rather than disdain. Despite being represented as potential, the assistant's abilities are not recognized or rewarded. As a result, wealthy clients fantasize to maintain their superiority by buying Absolut vodka. On the other hand, middleclass consumers Get more content on HelpWriting.net
