themselves and their family; Although immigration benefits the economy, illegal immigration poses conflict for those who legally enter. The
naturalization process, or the process of becoming a citizen has become increasingly difficult for immigrants to immediately start their new journey in
the United States, a land full of opportunities. In 2015, There were 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S, which amounted to 3.4% of the total
U.S. population. Higher rates of illegal immigration have impacted the quality of life for citizens in and outside of the United States through economic,
social, and political aspects.
The United States is often called a "melting pot" as a symbol of the fusion of ethnicities, nationalities, and cultures. Many families travel to America to
start their new life with better job opportunities and better schooling for their children. Most undocumented immigrants work in service or construction

There are many reasons I believe are behind the need for states to regulate the activities illegal immigrants perform on a daily basis. While being
originally from Mexico City, I have always tried to keep an open mind when facing the topic of immigration. In a way you could say I know, see,
and hear both sides of the story, at least in part. In regards government agencies, I believe a lack of understanding and knowledge on the subject create
