Illegal Immigration Speech Essay
Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. These words are
engraved on the Statue of Liberty that was assembled in 1886. The statue was meant to be a
beacon of hope for all immigrants that enter the U.S. Do we still agree with what those words say?
I'm not against all of the immigrants who want to start a better life here by becoming legal citizens.
I'm against the millions of illegal immigrants that come to the U.S. and cause trouble and make
things harder for the legal immigrants that are already here. Illegal immigrants have long been a
problem in the United States, and there have always been so many controversies about illegal
immigration Today, I would like to inform you about the serious problems...show more content...
a Statistics show that illegal immigrants cost the federal prison and court system over 1 billion
dollars each year. b 95% of outstanding warrants for homicide in Los Angeles are for illegal
immigrants Transition : Transition: If proper steps are taken to reduce illegal immigration, we
will see a great improvement in our society. 4 Most Americans know our basic laws regarding
illegal immigration. It is illegal to enter the United States without permission. The first time an
illegal immigrant is caught in the US it is a misdemeanor civil offense. This is because we want
to be able to quickly return illegal aliens back to where they come from, when they are caught at
the border without the rigors of a jury trial. a After the first offense, being caught a second time is
a felony! b It is also against the law to overstay a visa issued by the US Government and illegal for
an employer to knowingly hire illegal immigrants. Transition. With the government working
together to reduce illegal immigration, we are bound to see improvement in our county.
Conclusion If illegal immigration can be stopped, many people all over the country will receive
benefits. a The U.S. will save money if we don't have to spend it on care for illegal immigrants,
and then the U.S can use that money for better causes, like more money for education. b The U.S.
will become a safer place for us to live in, without the increased crime rates illegal

Illegal Immigration Essay
Illegal Immigration
Immigration, legal or otherwise, is a huge issue right now. Debates rage about how many
immigrants should be allowed into the country and how zealously we should guard out border from
illegal intruders. To a point, these people are correct, illegal immigration is something that should
be stopped. People should not cross the border illegally or overstay on visits. The important question
is, however, does illegal immigration deserve the massive amount of attention it receives? No, it does
not. By looking at the respected immigrants of the past and thinking about the issues in a clear and
objective way, it becomes apparent that illegal immigration (and legal immigration, for that matter)
is not as vital an issue...show more content...
In nations like Mexico and Vietnam, the same thing is happening today, they "are undergoing the
same convulsive demographic and economic disruptions that made migrants out of so many
nineteenth century
Europeans" (Kennedy p.64). Those who are against the immigration of the 1990's also say that the
European immigrants of the past were culturally similar to Americans, and that they were more
willing to assimilate and become "American." Neither of these things are true. Old immigrant
groups like the Italians and may be seen as generically "white" and "American" now, but when they
first began moving to the
United States, they were as alien as the immigrants are today are. They were seen as culturally (and
even physically) inferior to native Americans. Old immigrant groups had significant cultural
differences that caused friction between them and the natives. Those immigrants of the past also did
not come to
America and instantly throw off all semblances of their and language and society. On the contrary,
according to David Kennedy, "many...exerted themselves to sustain their religions, tongues and ways
of life" (Kennedy p. 64). Current opponents of mass immigration also point to the large numbers of
crimes committed by immigrants. They are forgetting that the immigrants of past had similar
problems. When illegal immigration is not confused with legal immigration, debate can take place in
a sane matter. As George Borjas

Essay about Illegal Immigrants: Amnesty
The United States is known to have one of the most accepting immigration in the world. It has
contributed to the country's population growth as well as social change. However, the policy
remains to be a controversy because of the topic that is illegal immigration. According to the
Department of Homeland security in 2010, there are 10.8 million illegal immigrants residing among
the 300+ million Americans. Since then, the number has grown to 11+ million people. The U.S.
Congress has always sought to find the solution for illegal immigration, with amnesty being an
option. If enacted, an amnesty will give unauthorized immigrants a path to legalization and
eventually citizenship. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) is a prime...show

A different Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals that the annual unemployment rate from
1986–2000 significantly fell from seven percent to four percent. These data support the positive
effects the IRCA had in the U.S. labor force after it was implemented. Next, a study by RaГєl
Hinojosa–Ojeda states that using a comprehensive immigration plan that involves giving current
undocumented immigrants legal status would benefit the country with 1.5 trillion dollars in
additional GDP growth over 10 years while increasing wages for all workers. Additionally, tax
revenue would be increased by 4.5+ billion dollars over three years. The same study shows the cost
of mass deportation, which is 2.6 trillion dollars in lost GDP over 10 years while increased wages
for less–skilled workers. These undocumented immigrants certainly have a heavy influence regarding
the economy, and it may be beneficial to incorporate them by granting amnesty as opposed to other
solutions such as mass deportation. With legal status, the 11 million undocumented individuals can
be more productive and help further strengthen the U.S. economy. The influx of immigrants coming
to America can be also be controlled with a proper immigration reform that utilizes amnesty. With a
solid immigration plan that gives unauthorized immigrants the opportunity to gain legal status by
learning English, applying, paying a fine, and other

Essay On Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration has negatively affected our country economically and has increased crime rate
over the past few decades. Yearly it has cost 2.2 billion dollars to educate 408,000 illegals k–12. In
2002 3,400 immigrants that were convicted with rape, murder, and assault were released. Also
475,000 immigrants travel to the United States illegally. And it is overwhelming of the amount of
illegal immigrants to try find and take care of them. The amount of Illegal immigration causing crime
rate to increase is through the roof. Just in the year 2002 "3,400 criminal immigrants were relisted".
And these 3,400 immigrants "were convicted with rape, murder, and assault". This was only 2002

"Arizona rancher Roger Barnett, whose property is under year–round siege by hordes of 475,000
illegal aliens". And these illegal aliens have "poisoned (or throat–slit) pets and livestock, torn down
fences, and lots of stolen property that wasn't tied–down". These illegal aliens don't leave behind just
a trail of death for livestock but also "mountains of rotting garbage, piles of discarded diapers,
food containers and plastic water bottles, and sundry filth everywhere". Also because of the rapid
increase of the number of illegal immigrants it is becoming impossible to stop and find all of
them and when they do a crime there is no record of them. While yes the Illegal Immigrants are
people who need help. And that are trying to make a better living for themselves and their family.
There are families that travel over illegally because they have nothing no money, no food, and no
water. And need a better place to live and rightfully so. But the harm they are doing to the citizens of
the United States are harmed more than helped. The U.S pays to have the Illegal Immigrants in. The
Illegal immigrants do not pay the United States does. When an illegal immigrant gets payed the
government loses money since there is no taxation on the paycheck. And when the government loses
money they tax more on who they can. Which is the legal United States citizens. Which is unfair
and wrong since the people who are following the rules
