Renewable and Non-renewable Sources of Energy
The document discusses renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. Renewable sources include tidal power from ocean tides, ocean energy from waves and thermal heat, and biomass from organic material. These sources are considered renewable because the resources used to create the energy are replenished naturally. Non-renewable sources include coal, natural gas, and asphalt, which are fossil fuels that take millions of years to form and will deplete if used faster than they can replenish. Once non-renewable resources are extracted and burnt, they cannot be reused.
2. Introduction
• Many people around the world don’t
understand between renewable and Non-
renewable source of energy.
• I am now going to present What is Renewable
and Non-renewable source of energy.
• Hope you Enjoy..
3. What is a Renewable source of
energy?
• Renewable source of energy is made from
renewable sources. They are supply that will
everyone will never run out of. It is use in
everyday life.
• Example:
5. About Tidal power
• The tide moves a huge amount of water
twice each day and harnessing it could
provide a great deal of energy - around
20% of Britain's needs.
• Tidal power is a Renewable energy source,
because the tides are caused by the orbital
mechanics of the solar system . The root
source of the energy is the orbital kinetic
energy of the earth-moon system.
7. About Ocean
• An Ocean is a large area of salt
water between continents . Oceans are very big and
they join smaller seas together to create a bigger
ocean. Oceans covers up 70% of our planet.[ It
covers 1/3 of the Earth's surface. Older maps may
not use the names Arctic Ocean and Southern
Ocean. The deepest ocean is the Pacific ocean.
• The reason why ocean is renewable because the
ocean can produce two types of energy, thermal
energy from the sun's heat and mechanical
energy from the tides and waves.
9. About Biomass
•
Biomass is biological material to trace from a
source from living, or recently living
organisms. For energy biomass this is often
used to mean plant based material, but
biomass can equally apply to both animal
and vegetable to race from source material.
10. Moving on
• Now we know the meaning of Renewable
sources of energy. We know that renewable
sources are supply’s that will never run out.
• Next we will be knowing what is a non-
renewable Source of energy.
11. What is a Non-Renewable source of
energy?
• A Non-renewable source of energy is a natural
source that could be used up faster than it
could be by nature. It can not be generated or
be produce. Once is used up , It will not be
available again.
13. About Coal
• Coal is a black rock and a solid fossil fuel. Is a
very hard object Which is 65%-95% Carbon
and its also has hydrocarbons and other
compounds in it.
• Coal is Non-renewable because after we dig it
all up and burn it then its finished, You can’t
use it anymore.
15. About Natural Gas
• Natural gas is a mixture. Natural gas is often
found in the ground together with petroleum.
• Most natural gas is burnt as a fuel to
produce energy. It burns with a blue flame
and it causes little pollution.
• Natural gas in Non-renewable because Once it
use, you burn it and then its finish. It can’t
produce of generate anymore.
17. About Asphalt
• Asphalt is a sticky, black and highly thick
liquid. It is present in most crude Petroleum
and in some natural deposits.
• Asphalt is no-renewable because wants you
like take it out, you can’t re-use it anymore, its
finish.
